Zendaya Swears By This New Mascara For Long, Smudge-Free Lashes

Whether you know a little or a lot about the goddess that is Zendaya, it's been quite obvious from the moment she landed on the small screen as a 14-year-old Disney star that she's exactly who Whitney Houston was talking about when she sang, "I believe that children are our future."

Now 24, the actress' resume is stacked higher than a waitlist for a pack of Lysol wipes. On top of starring in hits like HBO's Euphoria, she joined the Lancôme family back in February 2019, and since then, has been the face of the beauty giant's Idôle fragrance. She also fronts the brand's latest campaign, celebrating the launch of Lash Idôle Mascara.

"I love that it lengthens, separates, and actually lifts my eyelashes for a naturally enhanced effect," the star shares exclusively with InStyle. "I never have to worry about it smudging or leaving little mascara marks near my eyes. It literally stays put all day long — I often forget I even have it on."

She's not kidding, either. When I tried the new mascara for myself, it did a great job of separating each of my lashes.

The new lightweight product also offers a buildable, 24-hour wear gel formula that lets you choose whether you want a little bit of volume with one to two coats, or a super bold, fanned out effect with a few more strokes. I personally put on a lot, because I love a prominent lash look. But still, I too forgot I even had on makeup as soon as I left the bathroom.

As for Zendaya's tips for getting voluminous lashes, she says it's all in your hands — quite literally.

"It's honestly all about your application, and making sure you get as close to the roots as possible," she explains.

However, I'd be doing you a disservice if I didn't also get into the brand's innovative arch-shaped brush, which features 360 micro bristles of varying sizes to help coat each lash — even the shortest of the bunch. The design prevents annoying smudges during application as well (aka the bane of my existence).

The actress made a major hair change ahead of the election.

With absolutely nothing being normal this year, but everything seeming to be increasingly more hectic (why, God?), even Zendaya has found herself rushing to join last minute Zoom calls. And while, just like the rest of us, I'm sure she would love to be able to meet with people in-person again, at least she's got her virtual beauty routine down — which in 2020 is one hell of a win.

"[I use] concealer, tinted eyebrow gel, and lip gloss," she shares. Oh, and of course her new favorite mascara, Lash Idôle.
