The $10 Sam’s Club Find That’s Taking Over the Internet
According to one happy customer, "Saw these going viral on TikTok. Will buy over and over again!"
A new—and surprisingly inexpensive—warehouse store item is taking over social media, and we’re not feeling the least bit crabby about it. TikTokers are rushing to their closest Sam’s Club to get their claws on an imitation seafood item that fans say tastes better than the real thing. While Sam's Club frequently churns out products that shoppers swear by, like its Lobster Mac and Cheese and Raspberry Chipotle Dip, this product is one we didn't see coming, but we are so glad to know about it now.

Sam's Club's Imitation Crab Meat
Sam's Club is currently offering Gadré Surimi Snow Leg Style, an imitation crab meat for just over $10 for a two-pound pack.
TikToker @nick_kratka posted about the Sam’s Club find, explaining “People are saying the imitation crab at Sam’s Club tastes more like crab than crab.”
In his video about the imitation crab, he sautées the legs in a pan with butter and minced garlic, noting “the color on them is pretty incredible.” After a taste test, he proclaims, “You know this is not real crab as you’re eating it, but that being said, you really can’t beat it. It’s like $10 for 10 pieces of crab.”
What Is Imitation Crab Meat?
In a nutshell, it’s surimi: white flesh fish that’s been minced and deboned, then mixed with ingredients like artificial flavors, starch, and sodium, and molded to resemble crab legs. Imitation crab meat tastes a lot like real crab meat, is less expensive, and essentially cooks up the same way as the real thing.
While lots of TikTokers are sautéeing their Sam’s Club surimi up with butter and spices or pairing it with corn and boiled potatoes in true seafood boil-style, we think these would be a delightful twist on air fryer crab bites. If you haven't heard of these yet, it's another viral TikTok dish that involves slicing imitation crab legs into bite-sized pieces and air frying them until crisp. Served with some melted butter, it’s a snack that went viral last year for good reason.
Other great uses for imitation crab meat include crab pasta salad, homemade sushi rolls, and hot crab dip. If that wasn't already enough to get you enthusiastic, here are more imitation crab recipes to try.
