12 Reasons Why Jeremy Allen White Would Be the Perfect Bruce Springsteen
Reason #1: Biceps.
Earlier this week, Deadline revealed that Jeremy Allen White — aka Lip Gallagher, aka everyone's favorite chef — is in talks to portray Bruce Springsteen in an upcoming biopic about the making of the legendary rock artist's 1982 album Nebraska. The film, titled Deliver Me from Nowhere, is based on the 2023 book of the same name and will be adapted and directed by Scott Cooper, with a potential A24 distribution. The project will film this coming fall (after production of The Bear Season 3 and 4 wraps, of course) in New Jersey, Springsteen's home state.
Negotiations have not yet begun, which means that this is in no way confirmed or official, but there are a million and two reasons as to why this casting would be genius and should absolutely happen. For starters, the two actually share a lot of similar physical features. In fact, the side-by-sides of Springsteen and White currently circulating the internet put those tired Gene Wilder comparisons to shame. JAW and Bruce both have ravishing good looks, a strong jawline, and, perhaps my favorite, bulging biceps that they're not afraid to show off.
Can JAW sing? Who knows, and who cares (leave it to this godsend of a man to also have the voice of an angel, though)?! Can JAW pull off a cut-off? Probably better than anyone else in this world besides maybe Bruce himself. Plus, the Emmy-winning star certainly has the acting chops to embody one of the music industry's GOATs.
In short, Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen is bound to be the hottest thing to hit the silver screen since Austin Butler's eerily accurate portrayal of Elvis (which earned him a Best Actor Oscar nod — just sayin').
