The 15 Best Yachts at the Miami International Boat Show This Year

The Miami International Boat Show, the world’s largest boat and yacht show, begins tomorrow for its five-day run. The six-location event will have more than 1,000 boats on display along with thousands of marine products from over 1,000 exhibiting brands. Organizers expect the combined show to have a roughly $1 billion economic impact on the region.

Most of the smaller boats will be on display at the Miami Beach Convention Center, while new boats will be shown at Pride Park, Herald Plaza, Venetian Marina, and Museum Park Marina. The largest superyachts will be on display at the Superyacht Marina at IGY Yacht Haven Grande Miami.

More from Robb Report

The vessels on display range from the small, 13-foot Boston Whaler to the show’s largest brokerage superyacht, the 274-foot Bold from SilverYachts. In between there are boats of all sizes and styles, with the Miami sunshine and an uneven market motivating new buyers. According to the Boats Group, the first half of 2024 saw global sales decline by 9.1 percent compared the same period a year earlier, with used boats falling 12.4 percent. But new boat sales were up 5.3 percent for the year, with some categories, including the 36- to 45-foot motoryacht segment, seeing an 18 percent increase in the average sales price. The superyacht sector also continues to see firm pricing. Miami will be the bellwether show on the current state of the U.S. boating industry.

Here are 15 of our favorites at Miami.

Delta Marine ‘Laurel’

If SilverYachts‘s Bold is the king of the Miami show, its queen will be the 240-foot Laurel, one of the most compelling superyachts by Delta Marine, delivered in 2006. At that point, the Donald Starkey design was the largest superyacht built in the U.S. in 75 years. The blue-hulled vessel has features like a primary suite with two private balconies, six other large staterooms, an elevator that spans all guest decks, a library, and a full gym. The vessel underwent a 2023 refit that included modifications to the interior, new teak decks, and a freshly painted hull, making it look good as new. $69.5 million via IYC.

Canados Oceanic 143

Canados Oceanic 143
Canados Oceanic 143

Launched in 2023, the Oceanic 143 is a fast-running, long-range yacht from the versatile stable of Italian builder Canados. The vessel has a twin-stepped hull, which is highly unusual for a yacht this size, as well as a shallow draft for cruising the Bahamas and the Caribbean. The private owner’s deck, which includes a suite, an office, and the rest of the upper deck, is part of a five-stateroom layout. Bonuses include the explorer-like 1,400-square-foot aft deck and a six-person sauna inside the mast on the top deck. It’s a quirky boat that puts the fun in functional. $23.5 million via IYC

Ocean Alexander 37L

Miami will mark the launches of two yachts from the increasingly versatile stable of Ocean Alexander, which should make its display a popular destination among its many U.S. owners. Evan K. Marshall designed the Ocean Alexander 37 Legend, offering a vast, minimalist main deck surrounded by glass; a side foldout balcony; five staterooms for 10 guests on the lower deck; a massive upper deck that is enclosed forward, but open aft; and a top-deck flybridge. A foldout beach club offers access to the water at the rear. The boat is definitely a long-range cruiser for traditionalists.

Riva ‘Lady First’

Riva ‘Lady First’

The largest in Riva’s flybridge series, the 131-foot Lady First is a wide-body design with a planing hull that delivers 26 knots. Noteworthy features include a large salon with exceptional water views, five staterooms (with the requisite owner’s suite on the main deck), a large flybridge with a Jacuzzi, and an open foredeck with multiple seats. Of course, the best part is the beautiful, inimitable Riva style. $21.53 million via ABYS Yachting

Pershing GTX116

Pershing GTX116

The Pershing GTX116 is making its U.S. debut at the Miami show, featuring a svelte profile, snub-nosed bow and 1,776 square feet of exterior space. The GTX 116’s helm has a “Star Trek” feel, with a throne-like seat, throttles for high-speed running (a 41 mph top end and 34 mph cruise speed), joysticks for slow-speed maneuvering, and even screens built into the armrests, ala Captain Kirk. The contemporary salon is modern Italian design, with large windows and a couch on the starboard side. The five-stateroom yacht includes a full-beam primary, two VIPs, and two twins. Pershing used the same dark woods contrasting with light carpeting and decor across the 116-footer. It’s a stylish design in a performance package.

Lagoon 60

Lagoon 60

The new Lagoon 60’s aft cockpit bears a close resemblance to a power cat, with a large open stern, foldout transom, and facing lounges that run forward to the main cabin, which is defined by natural light, thanks to the glass. At the forward end is a large social area and a forward trampoline that offers even more social opportunities. Lagoon made the most of the cat’s wide 32’6” beam, especially in the salon, which boasts equivalent space of much larger motoryachts.  The 5’6” draft lets it sail into shallow-water paradises like the Bahamas or Florida Gulf Coast. This new Lagoon is also designed to port-hop up the coast or do long-distance cruising in remote archipelagos.

SilverYachts SpaceCat ‘Reduce’

SilverYachts’s recently launched SpaceCat Reduce comes from the design studio of Espen Oino. Its 42.6-foot beam, combined with its 118-foot length, makes the massive salon feel more like a Manhattan penthouse than a superyacht. The forward owner’s suite is also full beam, offering up space and exceptional water views. The leading feline in the power cat world also has four other luxury staterooms to accommodate a total of 12 guests as well as facilities for seven crew. The new SpaceCat will be at Silver Yachts’s display.

Overmarine ‘Mystere’

The combination of curves and straight lines gives Overmarine’s 109-foot Mystere well, a look of elegance befitting its name. The model name, the Mangusta GranSport 33, is powered by 4,000 hp Volvo Penta engines for an impressive top speed of 25 knots. Its interior has a contemporary minimalist look, with the requesite large windows that provide natural lighting, and the exterior is all about enjoying the great outdoors in multiple social areas. $12.9 million via BR Marine Group

Feadship ‘Tasia’

This 158-foot Feadship was launched in 1997, meaning that its pedigree is long established, but it also underwent a nearly $4 million refit in 2022 to update its engine and interior. Tasia‘s five-stateroom design, from the studios of Guido De Groot, Frits De Voogt, and John Munford, features a boisterous interior, part Art Deco and part colorful Caribbean, with a large, bright salon and primary suite as well as several Jacuzzis and even a dive shop on board. $17.9 million via Moran Yacht & Ship

NX44

NX44

The NX44 has one of the most famous designers by land or sea—Pininfarina. The Italian studio gave the 44-footer a curvy hull and a sloping hardtop, along with a lightning-bolt-shaped window for the lower deck. The long hullside window is reminiscent of a much longer express cruiser. The boat looks fast, even sitting at the dock. It also has a large swim platform that delivers another large-yacht feature by directly linking the open stern with the water.

Prestige F.57

Prestige F.57

This 57-footer is the latest model to join Prestige’s F series, combining a long, tall flybridge, a svelte-looking hull, and plenty of glass—in other words, “fashion plates” covering both cockpit and tinted glass in the hullsides for the staterooms below decks. The F.57’s hull is by famed naval architect Michael Peters, assuring both performance and comfort in seas. The newest Prestige has three generously-sized staterooms, with an optional cabin for the captain.

Maxim Yachts Max 44R

Shortly after making its debut at the Düsseldorf boat show, Spanish builder Maxim Yachts is launching its Max 44R in Miami. This day cruiser, powered by two 600 hp Mercury Verado outboards, is capable of running 50 knots. The Swiss Army knife–approach to its design includes a central exterior deck area with four sofas, two portable fridges, and, of course, 16 cupholders. The carbon-fiber hardtop is integrated with a JL audio system, which has two speakers on the hardtop and six more around the cockpit. Both the bow and stern have sunbathing areas. The area below-decks includes a pair of double cabins, making the Max 44R an all-purpose boat for family gatherings.

Aquila 46 Coupe

This fast-looking cat from Aquila Yachts is making its U.S. debut at Miami, offering both performance and a sense of style that most power cats are missing. The sleek hardtop, combined with the aggressive shape of the hullside window (not to mention the two Mercury outboards at the stern) give it a stealthy offshore look. Its stepped hull certainly boosts performance. But the boat’s two cabins, one with an ensuite, also turn the vessel into a family weekend cruiser.

Invincible 36 Catamaran

Invincible 36 Catamaran

This 36-foot power cat represents the latest in offshore fishing design, boasting a four-outboard configuration and 606-gallon fuel capacity. That gives a fast top end and a 600-mile range. The 11’7” beam and twin-hull naval architecture, courtesy of cat specialist Morelli & Melvin, not only expands the boat’s fishing space but offers a smooth ride in tough offshore conditions. It’s a sportfishing rig designed to go 100 miles offshore with much larger battlewagons and excel in all types of sea conditions.

Technohull Alpha 40

Technohull Alpha 40
Technohull Alpha 40

This 40-foot stylista from Greek builder Technohull, designed for day-boating, will make its U.S. debut this week at Miami. Large rigid-hulled inflatable boats have made excellent inroads into the south Florida market, thanks to their inherent stability and ability to offer the same amenities as any 40-foot fiberglass boat. The Alpha 40 looks fast—and it is, thanks to a three-stepped, deep-V Dynastream hull and the ability to use twin 500 hp outboards on the stern. It’s rated for 12 passengers, with multiple configurations on the deck and a double-berth cabin with a head and shower. Beyond performance, the Alpha 40 will make a fashion statement at any marina.
