This $19 Million Hamptons Estate Is a One-Acre Manicured Paradise

The string of picturesque villages that comprise the Hamptons is famous for its shingle-style cottages with gambrel roofs. However, the variety of architecture within the famed eastern Long Island towns actually ranges from English Country manor houses and Neoclassical mansions to Colonial Revival estates and sleek contemporary dwellings. Whatever the style, a relaxed coastal flair is prized among the most beloved Hamptons properties, and this $19 million spread in Bridgehampton seamlessly blends timeless, traditional architecture with modern materials and crisp styling.

Built in 2017, the stately abode sits on a little more than an acre of manicured grounds. There are a total of seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, plus one powder room split between the 11,600-square-foot main house and the detached pool house. European- and French countryside-inspired architectural details are best seen through steeply pitched gables, symmetry, and stone chimneys. The design was envisioned by McAlpine, award-winning interior designer James Michael Howard, and Hamptons-based landscape designer Landscape Details. The steep-pitched roofs, white facade, dormer windows, and pale-blue shutters give the home a classic feel.

“The vernacular style of a region has to be considered and respected,” says interior designer James Michael Howard. “In the Hamptons, it’s about relaxation, open spaces, and entertainment. [For this project], I wanted the pool to be on the south side of the house, and as you approach from the eastern side, I designed the roof to slope down and greet you, creating a welcoming and graceful aesthetic. Inside, I combined modern elements like marble floors and classic materials to bring comfort and beauty to every space.”

Like many Hamptons estates, the Matthews Lane estate was designed for entertaining on every scale. Inside, past the regal porte cochère and striking reception hall, the great room boasts a 30-foot-high wood-beamed cathedral ceiling, a custom fireplace, and multiple seating areas. Oversized windows at eye level and numerous clerestory windows flood the room with natural light year-round.

“This is a stunning designer estate in a prime location near Bridgehampton Village near the ocean,” says Preston Kaye, co-founder of Hedgerow Exclusive Properties. “Offered fully furnished, it presents a rare opportunity in the Hamptons market for someone seeking a seamless, turn-key experience.”

The main level also houses the gourmet kitchen, which has marble countertops and backsplashes, ample storage via custom cabinets, state-of-the-art appliances, and an eat-in island. There’s also a large dining area with a banquette, fireplace, and TV. Other rooms on the main floor include a media/family room and an office, as well as the primary suite, which includes a library-like sitting area, a fireplace, a private terrace, and a bathroom with a freestanding soaking tub.

The architect and designer prioritized privacy; no guest suites have adjoining walls, and there’s even a secondary primary suite with its own private terrace, perfect for longer-term (or favored!) guests. Each guest bedroom is equally inviting, complete with its own seating area, luxurious bathroom, and serene, nature-filled views.

Other highlights include a cutting-edge 16-person home theater, a gym, and a recreation room with a fireplace and billiards table. Outside, there are expansive stone patios, a 60-foot-long heated pool, a covered cabana, and a pool house that’s complete with an outdoor fireplace, a kitchen, and a dressing area with a bath, while the high-tech creature comforts include geothermal heating, a Control4 home automation system, Lutron lighting, and a comprehensive audio/visual system.
