Canadian actress Catherine O'Hara, 70, dazzled fans at the 96th Annual Academy Awards red carpet on Sunday, ahead of presenting an award on stage.

The "Schitt's Creek" star wore a full-length long-sleeve sequin gown in all black, with a bright red lip. She paired the look with high jewellery from Smiling Rocks, including a necklace with 54 lab-grown diamonds, totalling just over 74 carats. Her look was complimented by a sparkling Mae Cassidy purse, set with over 2000 hand-placed crystals, valued at $810.

O'Hara attended the star-studded Oscars event with her husband, production designer Bo Welch. The two met on the set of "Beetlejuice" in the late 1980s, and married in 1992.

Presenting the Oscars award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling on Sunday night, O'Hara was reunited with her 1988 "Beetlejuice" co-star Michael Keaton. The pair excitedly walked out on stage to the movie's soundtrack in what fans called an "iconic" moment.

Many later praised O'Hara's humorous tone as a presenter, and her "gorgeous" appearance at the awards show.

"What an absolute legend Catherine O'Hara is," one tweeted, while another wrote: "OMG Catherine O'Hara, the woman that you are."

"Catherine O'Hara getting all the laughs for her presenting. Best line delivery in the biz," one X user wrote.

Even if she was just handing them out, my dream of seeing Catherine O'Hara holding an Oscar has come true," another quipped.

When O'Hara was announced as a presenter for the Oscars, along with Keaton, fans began speculating they could be making an announcement. Film buffs said "there's a big chance" the two would announce the release of a trailer for "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice," set to be released in September of 2024.

One X user questioned whether O'Hara's Oscars look was inspired by her iconic "Beetlejuice" character, Delia Deetz, who wore signature all-black clothes and a bright red lip.

Though she and Keaton did not mention "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" by name, fans were satisfied with the more-than-subtle nod to the cult classic.

Earlier this week, O'Hara celebrated her 70th birthday. On Friday, she accompanied her "Schitt's Creek" co-star Eugene Levy as he was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and gave a speech.

People reported O'Hara credited the fellow Canadian during his ceremony for helping "jumpstart her career" and said she owed him "big time."

"I'm so glad we are happily, happily recognizing him with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, though I suspect that Eugene would be just as happy stepping outside the limelight," O'Hara said, according to People. "Eugene, I'm sorry to say that your immense talent and unassuming lovability is just gonna make us want to continue to know you more and more."
