I don't know about you, but I'm sick and tired of hearing about food recalls these days. From undeclared allergens to wood-like pieces making their way into meals, things are getting a bit too dicey in the food world for my liking. Well, these recalls show no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Add Johnsonville sausages to the list of products to double-check. The company has issued a recall on almost 23,000 pounds of its Cheddar bratwurst products due to the presence of foreign material, specifically "hard plastic." Although there have been no confirmed reports of injury, the recall was implemented after multiple consumers complained about hard plastic in their bratwurst.

Which Product Has Been Recalled?

  • 19-ounce sealed firm tray packages containing five pieces of Johnsonville BRATS CHEDDAR Bratwurst and the package code B9FOD.

  • The affected products were shipped to retail stores in numerous states, including Indiana, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

What Should I Do If I Have The Product?

The company recommends that consumers check their freezers and refrigerators for the product and either throw it away or return it to the place of purchase. I don't know about you, but I like my sausage sans plastic, please.
