Planning elaborate dinners can be enjoyable, but some days, you need something quick and easy. Whether taking a midday break or settling in for the evening, it’s a great feeling to know there’s a filling meal on the horizon that won’t take long to prepare.

Salads and sandwiches can be excellent time-saving options, but they can also feel repetitive despite all the flavorful combinations you can choose from. But sometimes the key isn’t necessarily to switch up the ingredients but to change how you serve them. Wraps can be an exciting alternative to sandwiches and make a delicious portable lunch. One of our favorites is the chicken Caesar wrap, and although you can find this creamy handheld on countless restaurant menus, all you need is three ingredients to make your own at home.

What's in a Caesar Wrap?

This meal is easy to customize and takes less than 10 minutes to assemble leaving you plenty of time to eat. All you need is a salad kit, your choice of tortilla or flatbread, and a rotisserie chicken.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Caesar Salad Kit: Bagged salad kits are an underutilized tool. The pre-portioned kits save you time both in the grocery store and the kitchen because the ingredients are washed, chopped, and ready to use. If you’re just making one wrap, feel free to use a single-serve salad bowl. If you’re making two to four wraps, it’s worth investing in a full-sized salad kit. Another great thing about them is that you don’t have to limit yourself to Caesar salad. You can make a quick wrap that matches your mood, whether that’s Mediterranean, green goddess, or Southwest taco salad.

Burrito-Size Tortillas: A burrito-sized flour tortilla, flatbread, or pita all work perfectly for this meal. You can warm the tortilla in the pan or microwave briefly but it’s not required.

Rotisserie Chicken: Shredded or cubed rotisserie chicken is a convenient protein addition. If you don’t have rotisserie chicken on hand, any cooked chicken will work. You can choose to eat it cold or warm it up in the microwave before adding it to your wrap. Alternatively, you can also grab some grilled chicken or crispy chicken strips from the grocery store hot bar and use them in your wrap.

How to Make a Caesar Salad Wrap

To make the wrap, open your salad kit and empty the lettuce into a large bowl. Add your desired amount of salad dressing, cheese, and croutons and toss with two forks until the ingredients are well combined. Alternatively, you can mix it right up in the bag and give it a good shake until all ingredients are coated in the dressing, just like you would with your favorite fast food salad.

Next, add your desired amount of dressed salad to the center of your tortilla and top with 3-4 ounces of chicken. Feel free to adjust based on your preferences and your wrap size.

Fold the ends of your tortilla into the center and roll it up like a burrito—that’s all there is to it! Now, you can dig in whole or cut the wrap in half diagonally for a restaurant-style presentation. If you’re packing it for lunch, be sure to wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or parchment paper to ensure it keeps its shape.

So the next time you find yourself considering the drive-thru, head to the grocery store instead and serve up this fresh, simple, budget-friendly meal in minutes.
