This $50 Million Riverfront Mansion in Florida Comes With a Pool and a Pickleball Court
A waterfront trophy mansion in Florida just came to market for almost $50 million—$49.9 million to be exact—and it’s not in one of the Sunshine State’s more expected locales of Miami or Palm Beach but rather in Fort Lauderdale.
Designed by architect Max Strang and constructed by Bomar Builders, the ultra-modern residence at 516 Mola Avenue sits on 1.16 acres with a cantilevered design. The eye-catching abode, facing a wide section of the New River, which snakes its way through the coastal city, was completed in 2020, offering six bedrooms and seven full bathrooms, plus a couple more powder rooms across nearly 10,000 square feet of interior space done up by DKOR, a Miami-based design firm. Tim Elmes of Compass holds the listing.

A pathway of stone slabs leads to the front door, amidst cordyline plants and an abundance of palm trees. The porch-like foyer, set outside the home’s main interior, is where the abundant use of floor-to-ceiling windows found throughout the house first comes into play. European oak wood floors add warmth and character to the main living area’s open-concept layout; a quartet of designer light fixtures hover over the dining area; and a wall of full-height windows affords wide river views over the crystalline swimming pool.
Though the kitchen is typically the heart of any home, here the minimalist-minded chef’s kitchen, which includes a hidden prep pantry, is one of the least exciting areas in the house. Certainly it’s well equipped with a huge island, but its rather dull minimalist design lacks a sense of coziness. The included breakfast area, however, sits against a wall of glass that slides open to a stone terrace that’s just three steps above the pool.

Spacious hallways with landscape views on either side provide an indoor-outdoor feel, and like the living room, the primary suite is trailed by tall windows overlooking the river. It also includes an ensuite bathroom with a soaking tub and dual shower, along with a private den with pretty scenic views. Additional guest bedrooms offer balcony access and vantage points for taking in breezes and views. A home office, theater, wet bar, and a full apartment suite for guests or staff are other key features.
Outdoor entertaining is a breeze thanks to a covered patio with dining and lounge areas. Other creature comforts include a barbecue grill and a long, slender pool that butts right up against the home, and a pickleball court. The property also include a boat lift for storing watercraft.
