I’m always curious what items make a tastemaker’s holiday wishlist—TBH, whatever the most put-together person I know is asking for, I probably want, too. Working at InStyle, I’m fortunate enough to know quite a few stylish editors, including (of course) editor-in-chief, Sally Holmes.
If you’re stumped on what to ask for this season, Holmes spilled everything she’s hoping to receive for the holidays, as well as what she’s gifting to others. Shop the six items that made her 2024 wishlist, below.
Currentbody LED Face Mask
So many people I’ve spoken to have an LED face mask on their wishlist, and Holmes is no exception. “Because I'm a tired-all-the-time person—kids! job! life!—I can be lazy when it comes to my skin care routine and, well, it's starting to show,” Holmes said, which is why she’s eyeing Currentbody’s mask. “I know there are no quick-fixes, but the Currentbody LED Face Mask might be the closest thing to doing a bippity-boppity-boo on the lines, discoloration, and dullness on my face.”

Ring Concierge Engraved Signet Ring
IMO, there are few gifts better than a customized one. Holmes herself wants Ring Concierge’s engraved Signet Ring, which she’d “engraved [her] kids's initials on as a nice little reminder of them throughout the day.” And while the customizable aspect is a major bonus, this also happens to just be a beautiful, versatile ring. “I like the daintiness of the design and how the two small diamonds add a little twinkle.”

Byredo Le Corps Mojave Ghost Body Wash and Lotion Gift Set
One of the gifts Holmes is grabbing for others is this Byredo gift set. As she explained, “gifting someone a super luxurious beauty gift set that they'd never buy themselves is always a hit.” While there are plenty to choose from, she called this limited-edition set from Byredo, which includes the brand’s body wash and lotion in the famous Mojave Ghost scent, a “no-brainer.”

Petite Plume Kid's Twill Pajama Set
Holmes has also been inspired by a gift her twin daughters received: Matching monogrammed PJs from Petite Plume. “There is truly nothing cuter than seeing a small child in adult-style button down pajamas,” she said, so of course she’s “gifting [her] friends with kids matching sets.” But she’s not stopping there; the brand actually makes those exact same PJs for adults, so she’s grabbing herself a set to twin with her twins. “These jammies are so nice, even my husband will want to wear them.”

The Bouqs Flower Subscription
The gift Holmes swears by? A Bouqs flower subscription. “Buying my mother-in-law a subscription for three months of flower deliveries was one of the most successful gifts I've ever given,” she said. Not only does a monthly subscription keep the holidays going for months, but a fresh bouquet of flowers delivered in cold winter months is a “total pick-me-up.”

Jenni Kayne Cashmere Socks
Holmes told me she’s continued the tradition her mom started of putting “a pair of fun socks in everyone's stocking at Christmas.” While this is a “practical gift people will get a kick out of,” it’s also one with room to get personal; everyone can get a pair hand-picked for them. For something luxurious, she recommends Jenni Kayne’s cashmere socks, but said this tartan pack is perfect if you prefer something funky. And if you’re looking for something somewhere in the middle, she recommends these fuzzy, subtly-sparkly ones from J.Crew.
