  • Hoda Kotb teased what’s next for her after her impending departure from Today.

  • She said she is working on a “wellness”-related project.

  • “I am super excited,” she said.

On September 26, Hoda Kotb announced that she is leaving her longtime gig as a host on Today. Now, she’s slowly sharing details about her next adventure: a “wellness” project.

“I have something that I am super excited about that’s in its infancy,” the 60-year-old recently told People. “It’s a whole wellness situation, and I got lit up by that just from stuff I’ve been working on and doing on myself.”

Kotb added that the project, which entails getting a “really good wellness app together and do[ing] wellness retreats and things like that,” is “still early on in the stages.” But she finds the prospect of sharing ways to feel better, together—like breath work exercises—exciting.

“I think it would be, number one, fun, and number two, helpful,” she shared. “When I learned some of these things, I was like, ‘Wait, why do I feel like my baseline feels less stressed? Why do I feel this way?’ So I was talking about this stuff, and so the more you’re interested the more you go down kind of that path.”

After 17 years of delivering news and connecting with the country on Today, Kotb announced in a letter to the NBC staff that she is leaving the network to focus on her daughters, Hope Catherine and Haley Joy. “As I write this, my heart is all over the map,” she began. “I know I’m making the right decision, but it’s a painful one. And you all are the reason why. They say two things can be right at the same time, and I’m feeling that so deeply right now. I love you and it’s time for me to leave the show.”

Thankfully, Kotb plans, “happily and gratefully,” she wrote, to remain part of the NBC family in some capacity, likely via writing. “I’ll be around. How could I not? Family is family and you all will always be a part of mine,” she said.

Kotb’s broadcasting exit, she said, will happen in 2025. So we have a bit more time to enjoy her on-screen company. We can’t wait to see what this “wellness” project will be!
