I've been fake tanning for about 15 years. So it's fair to say I know my way around the stuff. As a former Irish dancer, a self-tan was very important to competition life.

Thankfully, tans are far less orange than they once were and we don't have to deal with horrible tiger-bread patches. Aside from better tan formulas, we also have tan removers to thank. These genius little scrubs make the once laborious task a total doddle. No more time needed to marinate in the bath before scrubbing a layer of your skin off.

Not all tan removers are made equal, though. There's one that I consider superior to all the rest: Rose & Caramel Purity Excel 60 Second Fake Tan Remover.

I'd heard about this product going viral for some time but it took me months to actually try it myself. Once I did, I've not gone back since.

It's currently a whopping 52% off on Amazon Prime Day right now so nab a tub of the stuff now if you're a keen self-tanner who wants to save time scrubbin'.

Rose & Caramel Purity Excel 60 Second Fake Tan Remover formula and results

The formula contains ingredients that exfoliate the skin (both chemically and physically), adjust the pH of the skin and hydrate.

It's super easy to use. I like to do this in a warm shower, first washing my skin with a regular body wash and washing my hair then popping a hair mask in (why not marinate that hair in the meantime?!). I then turn off the water (we're water-saving girlies over here) and apply the Rose & Caramel scrub. I don't scrub it in yet but simply apply a thin layer all over and let it sit.

The brand says to let it sit for 60 seconds (hence the name) but I like to do a couple more just to be sure. I then take an exfoliating mitt and gently wipe away the tan. On old tan (think 5-7 days old) it should just melt it away but for stubborn areas, you might need to buff the skin a little. You don't need to be harsh, it should be really easy to remove the excess tan without going OTT on the buffing.

Once all the tan is removed, follow with a hydrating body wash and then don't forget to moisturise right out the shower — a step many people forget and then complain about dry skin!

The tub is also huge (440ml to be exact), I find that it's the most value for money of any remover I've used. It claims you get 10 uses out of that but I find I can get more.
