'9-1-1: Lone Star' Fans Are Stunned After Rob Lowe Makes Big Career Announcement

Rob Lowe is back in a comedic role, and his fans are so excited.

The 58-year-old actor has been a Hollywood mainstay for decades, with iconic roles in The Outsiders, St. Elmo's Fire, The West Wing, Parks & Recreation, and dozens of other shows and movies. He currently stars in 9-1-1: Lone Star, but he made time to appear alongside his real-life son in an upcoming Netflix comedy, Unstable.

In the show, Rob plays Ellis Dragon, an egocentric biotech entrepreneur on the verge of a mental breakdown, and his son, Jackson (John Owen Lowe), steps in to save the company and mend his relationship with his father. John (one of two sons Rob shares with his wife Sheryl Berkoff) is no stranger to acting: He has starred alongside his dad in Holiday in the Wild and The Grinder, and he serves as a writer on 9-1-1: Lone Star.
