In the latest episode of the ABC series, Stark’s Buck realized his feelings for his pal Tommy were stronger than “friendship.” What followed was described by TVLine’s Andy Swift as “one of the most satisfyingly steamy sequences we’ve gotten from this show in a minute,” and it ended with a kiss. (Read full breakdown of Buck’s sexual awakening.)
“This is a show about love and inclusion,” Stark wrote. “It’s featured queer relationships from the very beginning including a beautiful Black lesbian marriage played out by two of the best actresses I’ve ever watched.
“If one other character finding a new facet to his sexuality and [realizing] his bisexuality is your deal breaker — I fear you’ve missed the entire point of the show,” he continued. “You are not required to announce your departure.”
The actor added that he has received positive reactions to Buck’s sexual revelation, which have left him “humbled and overwhelmed.”
Buck and Tommy’s relationship will only be further explored, as the couple is set to embark on their first date in Episode 5. (Get a sneak peek.)
