Here are 9 pop-up bars around Kansas City that’ll help you get in the Christmas spirit
The holidays are creeping up, and Kansas City’s beginning to spread some Christmas cheer through pop-ups.
Reservations are open for holiday pop-up bars and restaurants across town. Favorites are returning to Boulevard Brewing Co. and the Country Club Plaza. The Kansas City Chiefs are partnering again with Apparition Productions to bring red-and-gold cheer to Arrowhead Stadium until the end of 2024.

The Gingerbread
New to Kansas City is The Gingerbread, a holiday pop-up bar inside T-Mobile Center. Located in the founder’s club inside the arena, guests can enjoy themed craft cocktails, delicious appetizers and unique photo opportunities with a gingerbread-themed carousel.
Where: T-Mobile Center, 1407 Grand Blvd.
When: It opens Friday, Nov. 29 through Sunday, Dec. 29.
How to go: Reservations are now open for 90-minute seatings and cost $14 per person on Thursdays and Sundays and $18 per person on Fridays and Saturdays. Its hours are from 5 to 9:30 p.m. every day it’s open. You must be ages 21 and up to enter.
Holiday Hideaway
The Holiday Hideaway pops up at two Chicken N Pickle locations in the Kansas City area in Johnson County and the Northland. The pickleball-focused restaurant brings lodge vibes to its venues, with summit views, a cozy atmosphere and outdoor fire pits all season long.
Where: Chicken N Pickle, 5901 W. 135th St. in Overland Park and 1761 Burlington St. in North Kansas City
When: The pop-up is open from Friday, Nov. 22, through Tuesday, Dec. 31. You can do 4:15-11 p.m. Monday through Friday, 2:45-11:45 p.m. Saturdays and 2:45-9:30 p.m. Sundays.
How to go: Reservations are open now online for both the North Kansas City and Overland Park locations. Each reservation costs $10 per person and you must be ages 21 and up to attend.
Jingle
KC Wine Co.’s holiday pop-up bar, “Jingle,” is open inside its 6,000-square-foot barn. It’s serving Christmas cosmopolitans, cranberry cider, mistletoe margaritas, jingle juice, Christmas cookies, flatbreads and other snacks.
Twinkling string lights hang from the ceiling, while nutcrackers, Christmas trees and sleighs fill the bottom floor. The barn can seat upwards of 380 people with extra seating on the mezzanine level.
Where: KC Wine Co., 13875 S. Gardner Road in Olathe
When: The pop-up bar will close Sunday, Nov. 24, but reopen from Sunday, Dec. 1, to Sunday, Dec. 22. It’ll be open 4-9 p.m. Fridays and Sundays and noon to 9 p.m. Saturdays.
How to go: Admission is free and visitors do not have to make a reservation, but they have to be ages 21 and up to enter.
Kingdom’s Greetings
The Chiefs are working with North Kansas City pop-up bar Vignettes this holiday season for “Kingdom’s Greetings,” a holiday pop-up bar in the penthouse at Arrowhead Stadium.
The team at Vignettes are turning the penthouse into a snow globe of red and gold, with cocktails and snacks crafted by Arrowhead staff. Vignettes says visitors can take pictures on the Chiefs’ sleigh, stroll through the red and gold trees or curl up by the fireplace in Arrowhead’s winter wonderland.
Where: GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, 1 Arrowhead Drive
When: The winter pop-up bar is open from 5 to 11 p.m. on Thursdays through Sundays from Saturday, Nov. 30, to Sunday, Dec. 29. The space is closed Dec. 8 and 21 since the Chiefs play at home, and it’s also closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
How to go: Reservations can be made online and cost $25 per person. You must be ages 21 and up to attend, and each reservation is 90 minutes. Reservations are also nonrefundable.
Parking for the pop-up bar is free, and you can enter the stadium grounds through any gate, but the Chiefs recommend using Gate 1, 3 or 5. Parking signage will direct you to park in Lot C, which is close to the entrance for the pop-up bar.
Miracle
“Miracle” returns to Kansas City for another year, bringing its holiday pop-up bar to two destinations around town.
The spot at at the Country Club Plaza is once again open for the general public. The downtown location inside Rockhill Grille is also open for reservations this year. In 2023, it was reserved for private parties.
Inside, visitors find festive drinks and decorations. Christmas movies can be seen playing on the television screens and holiday songs playing through the speakers.
Where: 4807 Jefferson St. on the Plaza and 2000 Grand Blvd. downtown
When: The Plaza location is open from Nov. 29 to Dec. 28 and the downtown location is open from Nov. 29 to Dec. 23.
How to go: Reservations for the Plaza can be booked online on Resy. So can reservations for Rockhill Grille.
Rec Deck the Halls
For the fourth year in a row, Boulevard Brewing Co. turns the fourth floor at its brewery into an over-the-top holiday experience called Rec Deck the Halls featuring festive cocktails, frozen Flings, Quirk cocktails, barrel-aged beers and shuffleboard.
New this year are Candy Cottages — private, cozy, cabana-style reservation spaces for up to eight people, the brewery said in a statement. You can book a reservation for a cottage or any spot inside the hall online.
Where: Boulevard Brewing Co., 2501 Southwest Blvd.
When: Friday, Nov. 29, and will be open to the public from 1:30 to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through Dec. 30.
How to go: Boulevard says seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for a $5 cover charge, with a portion of proceeds benefiting Kansas City G.I.F.T., a nonprofit providing grants for Black-owned businesses, and Guadalupe Centers, a nonprofit that’s assisted the Latino community for over 100 years.
Snowglobe
Snowglobe first landed in the Kansas City area in 2023 at Calaveras in Lee’s Summit. It’s expanding to Kansas in 2024, with one location in Lenexa and another Overland Park.
The three restaurants in the Kansas City area are decked with lights, candy canes, greenery and other seasonal decor. The menus will also vary depending on where you go. In Overland Park, for example, you’ll find You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out Spicy Chicken Pizza and Jovie’s Candy Cane Dream, whereas Lenexa serves Dancer’s Dueling Butter Cakes alongside a Mrs. Claus cocktail, among other specialty items.
Where: Blue Moose, 10064 Woodland Road in Lenexa; Barley’s, 11924 W. 119th St. in Overland Park, and Calaveras in Lee’s Summit, 219 E. Main St.
When: Now through Sunday, Jan. 4 at Barley’s and Monday, Jan. 5, at Blue Moose and Calaveras.

Tinsel Tavern
Power & Light District’s pop-up bar is moving upstairs inside the KC Live! Block.
Tinsel Tavern sets up shop inside Shark Bar, turning the dance floor into a beach-themed holiday party. Visitors can drink holiday-inspired cocktails, eat festive food and participate in themed events while the pop-up is in town.
Where: Shark Bar, 1340 Grand Blvd.
When: The pop-up opens Friday, Nov. 29, and runs until Saturday, Dec. 28. It’s open 4-10 p.m. every Tuesday-Thursday, 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday.
How to go: You must be ages 21 and up to enter. You can book a reservation online, which costs $15 per person.
Tinsel & ‘Tinis
Some nights after Union Station’s holiday light show Holiday Reflections winds down, you’ll find Tinsel & ‘Tinis, the largest pop-up in Kansas City at 27,000 square feet.
Each night includes holiday entertainment featuring visits from Santa Claus, live carolers and a DJ. You will also have access to roam around Holiday Reflections’ walk-through village.
Where: Union Station, 30 W. Pershing Road
When: It’ll be open from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. on six dates: Dec. 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, and 21.
How to go: General admission tickets cost $25 and after 10 p.m. late entry tickets are $15, and they can be purchased online.
