Is Aaron Taylor-Johnson the Next James Bond?
Stop whatever you're doing and grab a dry martini (shaken, not stirred), because we've reportedly found our next James Bond in the shape of Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
While we'll always know him as Robbie from The Stiff Dylans, rumor has it the 33-year-old actor is being eyed up as 007, following successful action movie roles in Bullet Train and Kick-Ass.
According to The Sun, he'll replace Daniel Craig in the coveted role, with the last Bond movie, No Time To Die, coming out in 2021. The source said, "Bond is Aaron’s job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear back.
"As far as [the production company] Eon is concerned, Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days and they can start preparing for the big announcement."
Last week, while doing press for new movie The Fall Guy, Aaron was asked about what he thought of the James Bond rumors by Numero. "I find it charming and wonderful that people see me in that role," he coyly replied. "I take it as a great compliment."
Following Daniel Craig's exit, numerous different names have been thrown in the James Bond ring, including James Norton from Happy Valley and Idris Elba from Luther. Fans have also floated the idea of the likes of Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy and Henry Cavill in the role.
While we wait to see if there's any truth to the rumors, we'll be rewatching Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging and dressing up as a stuffed olive. You?
