Adam Sandler, Salma Hayek pay tribute to Cameron Boyce as autopsy scheduled
Adam Sandler and Salma Hayek have paid tribute to their on-screen son Cameron Boyce, who has died aged 20.
The Disney Channel star - who played Hayek and Sandler’s son Keith Feder in the Grown Ups movie franchise - passed away in his sleep aged 20 at the weekend and the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has scheduled an autopsy.
Sandler posted a picture of Boyce on Instagram and wrote: “Too young. Too sweet. Too funny. Just the nicest, most talented, and most decent kid around. Loved that kid. Cared so much about his family. Cared so much about the world. Thank you, Cameron, for all you gave to us. So much more was on the way. All our hearts are broken. Thinking of your amazing family and sending our deepest condolences.”
Hayek posted: “I had the privilege to play Cameron’s mother in #grownups 1 and 2 and we stayed in touch through the years He was spirited, talented, kind, generous, funny and a shining light. His joy will live in our hearts forever as he goes on dancing and shining elsewhere. My heart goes to his lovely family.”
Boyce - star of TV movies franchise Descendants and comedy show Jessie - died in his sleep after suffering a seizure as the result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.

Boyce was catapulted to stardom playing Cruella De Vil’s son Carlos in the fantasy musical made-for-TV movies Descendants. He is believed to have filmed his part in Descendants 3 which is due for release on the Disney Channel next month.
Actress Selma Blair had not worked with Boyce but her eight-year-old son Arthur was a huge fan.
The Hellboy star wrote on Instagram: “Cameron Boyce . Arthur’s role model. For years to come. I loved knowing such a soulful, talented young man was out there for my son to look up to. We are saddened to learn of his passing. And my heart hurts for his family and loved ones.”
Some of Boyce’s Descendants co-stars have also paid tribute to him on social media. The show follows the children of famous Disney characters.

Dove Cameron, who plays Mal, daughter of Maleficent, wrote: “No words . words will come later.”
Wendy Raquel Robinson, who played his onscreen mother Cruella de Vil in the show wrote: “My dearest Cameron...my forever Carlos. I’m at a total loss of words, my heart is aching, praying for your precious family, I love you Victor! You came into my life for a Reason: To shine light and laughter in dark and hidden spaces-Thank you Cameron!”
Descendants stars Sarah Jeffrey, Dianne Doan and Keegan Connor Tracy were also among those to share pictures of themselves with Boyce.
