Adele suffering with "really bad" condition that's impacting her ability to walk

Adele was forced to open up to fans about her health over the weekend after being seen hobbling across the stage during one of her Las Vegas residency performances.

Speaking to the crowd as she handed out merchandise t-shirts, the singer revealed that she is suffering with "really bad" sciatica that is impacting her ability to walk.

"I have to waddle these days as I have really bad sciatica," she said as she moved from one side of the stage to the other. According to the NHS, sciatica is a condition "where the sciatic nerve, which runs from your lower back to your feet, is irritated or compressed."

The NHS explains that if you have sciatica, your bottom, legs, feet and toes may feel painful, numb or weak – or you may experience a tingling sensation, like pins and needles. "Your symptoms may be worse when moving, sneezing or coughing," the NHS adds, noting that: "You may also have back pain, but it's not usually as bad as the pain in your bottom, leg or foot." Sciatica usually gets better in four to six weeks, but can last longer.

This is not the first time that Adele has spoken out about living with back pain. "I’ve been in pain with my back for, like, half of my life, really. It flares up, normally due to stress or from a stupid bit of posture," she told The Face last year. The singer went on to explain she'd slipped several discs in her back, although working on strengthening her core muscles improved this.

"I slipped my first disc when I was 15 from sneezing. I was in bed and I sneezed and my fifth one flew out. In January, I slipped my sixth one, my L6. And then where I had c-section, my core was useless," she said. "But where I got my tummy strong, down at the bottom, which I never had before, my back don’t play up as much."
