Two of my absolute favorite flavors are bacon and ranch, and one of my favorite prepared salads is chicken salad. So when I saw that ALDI was combining these three things into one chicken salad, I just about swooned in front of the deli section.

You might think I was overreacting, but I can tell you, after tasting Park Street Deli Bacon Ranch Chicken Salad, I wasn’t wrong. It was that good.

What’s So Great About ALDI’s Park Street Deli Bacon Ranch Chicken Salad

An entire pound of Park Street Deli Bacon Ranch Chicken Salad will cost you only $5.79. The container says there are five one-third cup servings per pound, which is pretty accurate. Except, it’s quite easy to eat two servings or three servings in one sitting.

Like most of the Park Street Deli chicken salads I’ve tried, this chicken salad features nicely diced white meat chicken, celery, and mayo, but from there it veers into an interesting direction by adding bacon. Then, it adds all of the delicious ingredients that make up ranch—parsley, buttermilk, garlic, and onion—and ooh, you can smell the tang of the ranch when you open it up. You also get a whiff of the sweet, smoky bacon, too.

Because ALDI also adds bread crumbs, the chicken salad has a great texture, but if you are gluten-sensitive or celiac, you shouldn’t buy this (hopefully, Park Street Deli will make some chicken salads that are okay for those with food sensitivities in the future).

I think this creamy, smoky, tangy chicken salad tastes great on a spoon right out of the container. But if you’re feeling more civilized, add it to a wrap or a croissant, and you’ve got a gourmet sandwich going on. Add some lettuce, tomato slices and bacon, and well, then you’ve got a BLT chicken salad going on, and it’s next level delicious.

I also think it’s great to just add some of the chicken salad on top of greens and a few cukes for a quick lunch salad. If you’re too busy, just grab your favorite bagged salad and toss some of this chicken salad on top.

Or if you want to get fancy, hollow out some medium-sized tomatoes, then fill them with this salad and sprinkle some extra bacon on top for a fantastic appetizer.
