Alexandra Daddario channels old Hollywood glam in plunging silver gown at SAG Awards
Alexandra Daddario set the red carpet on fire at the 2022 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards.
The "White Lotus" actress channelled old Hollywood glamour at Sunday's awards show in Santa Monica, Calif. Despite mixing and mingling with some of the biggest names in film and television, the 35-year-old beauty stole the show in a plunging silver gown by Atelier Versace that featured a daring thigh-high slit. Daddario's throwback ensemble included soft curls and a bold red lip.
Social media quickly erupted in praise for the jaw-dropping look, with some dubbing Daddario the best dressed of the evening.
"Gorgeous," one person wrote. "Shining bright like a diamond."
"Old Hollywood glamour at it's finest," another said.
"Alexandra Daddario just won the night," someone wrote to Twitter.
"No question— an undeniable goddess," a fan said.
The "True Detective" actress, along with actor Ross Butler, were chosen as this year's SAG ambassadors, and presented the award for Motion Picture and Television Stunt Ensembles.
In a press release from SAG, Daddario and Butler were described as "actors who exemplify the utmost values of the profession and are positive role models for the next generation of performers. These individuals actively use their platform to advocate for humanitarian and public service endeavours"
While walking the red carpet, Daddario revealed that her mother expressed fears for her character "Rachel" in the critically acclaimed HBO drama "White Lotus." In the series, Daddario plays a newlywed wrestling with second thoughts while honeymooning at the luxury Hawaiian resort.
The series begins with acknowledging the death of a character who isn't revealed until the final episode. Daddario said she had to give her mother spoilers for the show ahead of time.
"My mother in particular always worries," admitted Daddario. "She was very scared [for my character] because she doesn't want to watch me die. So she needed to know just for her own state of mind. She couldn't watch the show unless she knew I survived."
In real life, the star is happy to report that all is well in her personal life. Daddario ended 2021 on a high note, celebrating her engagement to producer Andrew Form.
"What's wonderful is that we can support each other through the tough times," Daddario told E! News. "The world's a little crazy right now, and we're looking forward to the future."
