As an avid reader, I'm a firm believer in the power of an e-reader. As much as I love a physical book, there's no denying the convenience that a lightweight e-reader brings — especially considering they can hold hundreds of books at once, making them ideal for travel.

In case you haven't yet given them a chance, Amazon Canada's latest sale is your chance to snag the Kindle 2022 release e-reader on sale. Normally retailing for $130, shoppers can find it on sale now for $95, a savings of 27 per cent.

It has an adjustable front light and dark mode to make reading effortless — day or night. It also comes with 16 GB of storage to hold hundreds of books at once. Simply connect your device to a Kindle Unlimited subscription for access to over 2 million titles.

You can shop the Kindle in two colours: Black and denim blue.

450+ reviews | 4.6 stars

It's clear that Amazon shoppers have been loving this Kindle device, as it's earned a 4.6-star average rating from hundreds of reviews. Customers have been impressed by its long-lasting battery life and lightweight design, raving that it's an "awesome little reader."

"I love the size and how lightweight it is," shared one reviewer.

Reviewers also agree that this Kindle is a definite upgrade to older models, calling it "lighter, faster and easier to use."

"So much lighter and much better font/contrast. Worth the upgrade," echoed one reviewer.

Despite all the positive reviews, some shoppers found that the device's battery life doesn't live up to its claims of six weeks of use. Reviewers have shared that it "lasts over two weeks," but can be stretched a bit longer if you turn on airplane mode in order to disconnect from wifi.

If you're in the market for a new e-reader, the Kindle device could be the way to go. It's a compact e-reader that lats you carry hundreds of books with you wherever you go, and is a great buy at its current sale price of $95.

While its battery life leaves some room for improvement, shoppers still agree that it's "worth the upgrade" from older models.
