The details

You trust Amazon devices for binging your favourite TV shows, keeping you safe at home, and for catching up on the latest bestsellers — so why not make the switch to Amazon-branded headphones?

Amazon's second-generation Echo Buds earbuds are small, light and comfortable — designed to look, feel, and sound great. The sleek in-ear headphones feature active noise cancellation to limit background noises, have a sweat-resistant finish, and come with four ear tip sizes to find your most comfortable fit.

Like most Amazon devices, the Echo Buds work hands-free with the Alexa app, allowing listeners to play music, stream podcasts, or read audiobooks without having to reach for their phones.

The earbuds offer up to five hours of music playback per charge and up to 15 hours with the charging case. A quick 15-minute charge provides up to two hours of additional listening.

What people are saying

With nearly 300 reviews, a 4.1-star average rating, and an "Amazon's Choice" designation, the second-generation Echo Buds are proving to be a hit among shoppers.

According to one reviewer, the earbuds are "much nicer quality" than they "have any business being at that price range."

The touch control pads "work much better than the over-sensitive ones" on more expensive headphones, they write. Plus, they're "surprisingly comfortable."

The earbuds are "almost too good to be true," writes another shopper. "Incredible value."

"I honestly feel like I stole them for the price I paid," they say. "They are actually amazing;" I'm "surprised they don't cost more."

While several reviewers highlight the noise cancellation, comfort, and Alexa features, others say that while the earbuds "are good," they're "not great."

Amazon features "work seamlessly" with the earbuds, according to one shopper, but the sound quality itself is "not great."

The "battery life is not bad, but not the greatest," writes another.

The verdict

With the holiday season around the corner, the Prime Early Access Sale is a fantastic time to pick up a new set of earbuds for yourself or a loved one. On sale for 42 per cent off, reviewers say the Echo Buds "work seamlessly" and are "surprisingly comfortable." However, other users note that they're "not the greatest" and recommend keeping your expectations within reach.
