Although the weather has been unseasonably warm up until now, if you take the Farmers' Almanac predictions into consideration, Canada is in for one chilly winter.
Every year since 1818, the Farmers' Almanac has given long-range weather predictions for the year ahead. In their winter 2021/22 report, the Canadian Farmers' Almanac predicts temperatures to dip from near normal to below average across the country. This means that frosty, snowy days are ahead, making winter accessories all the more essential.
For keeping warm during Canadian winters, Amazon shoppers turn to these affordable touchscreen gloves from Trendoux.
TRENDOUX Touchscreen Winter Gloves
The details
The unisex knit gloves from Trendoux come with a hyper-sensitive material on the thumbs, forefingers and middle fingers so that you can seamlessly use your touchscreen devices without having to expose your fingers.
The palms of the mittens are covered with silicone triangles for grip, and they're lined with a soft wool material, making them a warm and cozy option to wear on their own or as a layering item beneath bulkier gloves.
What people are saying
With more than 21,000 ratings, Amazon reviewers say these affordable and versatile mittens are "honestly great gloves."
They're wonderful for "walking the dog," writes one shopper. The silicone grip is "perfect for slippery leashes."
The triangle grips have "proven excellent" for holding your phone and gripping the steering wheel, echos another user.
The Trendoux gloves offer "great" touch sensitivity, although [my] "favourite part is the grip triangles." It gives me "extra confidence" to hold my phone, says a third shopper.
While the gloves boast more than 13,000 five-star ratings, some shoppers say the touch sensitivity is not all that it's cracked up to be.
Although they're "quite warm" and "great" for gripping, the touchscreen fingertips "don't work that well," claims one reviewer.
It misses "three out of every five clicks," and when it does work, the "accuracy is not guaranteed."
The verdict
With more than 21,000 ratings, many Amazon shoppers agree the Trendoux winter gloves are a fantastic option for their handy silicone grips and warmth. However, if you're looking specifically for touchscreen capabilities, the reviews are mixed.
