How Amelie Zilber Got Ready for Dior’s Haute Couture Show in Paris
TK
Good morning, Paris, it’s show day!
When the glam is perfect.
Adding the sparkle!
Fit check!
Double take.
The coolest look.
Keeping this bag close to my heart!
My Grace Jones moment and pre-show strut.
Daydreaming about Chanel.
Amelie Zilber did not wake up like this—and she’ll be the first to admit it. “I started my day with a bird’s nest of unkempt hair and puffy eyelids,” she tells ELLE.com, before adding: “Courtesy of my ludicrously talented hair and makeup team, I transformed from a goblin into a princess drenched in Dior Beauty highlighter and lip oil.” Not pictured? The triple espresso the actress downed to beat the jet lag. Another energy booster? The white lace dress adorned with puffy sleeves she handpicked from creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri’s 2024 resort collection for the French house. “Accessorized with a beautiful white Dior Bag and the most comfortable white cowboy boots, I was ready and equipped to take on the streets of Paris,” Zilber shares. Watch her prepare to do so, below.
Obviously I woke up just mere moments before this photo was taken. Just kidding! I started my day with a bird’s nest of unkempt hair and puffy eyelids. Courtesy of my ludicrously talented hair and makeup team, I transformed from a goblin into a princess drenched in Dior Beauty highlighter and lip oil. Not pictured was the triple espresso I downed to beat the jet lag!
Wearing Dior Beauty is like strapping myself with armor, encouraging a confidence to own who I am and a sense of empowerment in how I present myself to the world.
My Dior look for the day was a beautiful white lace, puffy-sleeved dress from Maria Grazia Chiuri’s 2024 resort collection. Accessorized with a beautiful white Dior Bag and the most comfortable white cowboy boots, I was ready and equipped to take on the streets of Paris.
I attempted to match the ethereal, fairy tale-esque dress with a soft pink eyeshadow and braided hair. A beautiful young Parisian woman screamed from the crowd “garden princess!” at me, so I think, mission accomplished?
As usual, I chose the floor rather than a chair. Perhaps this was simply an excuse to dramatically show off my look. If there’s one thing you need to know about me: I love the drama.
One of my favorite details was this sophisticated metal belt, crafted to appear like butterflies on my waist. It was subtle yet strong enough to elegantly enhance the look.
My Dior moment! So in love.
I sent this hair photo to my mom and she responded with, “So pretty. You should do this on yourself more often.” Yes, mom. Because I have exhibited a clear adeptness to the art of hair throughout my childhood and am undoubtedly capable of creating a masterpiece like this on my own. Again, kidding!! I could never.
We have arrived! I simply love couture shows. The collective curiosity and inspiration, the buzzing energy and shared excitement...it’s an atmosphere that’s truly so rare and unique.
Dior has done it again. Luxurious and show-stopping, woven with historical nods, and declaring a renewed sense of modernity. I continue to be blown away by the work of Peter Philips and Maria Grazia Chiuri. Congratulations on a fabulous collection!
