Amy Schumer opens up about liposuction: 'I'm feeling really good'
Amy Schumer is keeping it real with her fans.
The 40-year-old comedian recently opened up on Chelsea Handler's podcast, Dear Chelsea, about getting liposuction surgery — something she "never thought" she would do, but is so glad she did.
"I got liposuction. I never thought that I was going to do anything like that," she told Handler.
"Like, when I would hear liposuction I was just like, that's so crazy to me, and I would say that I'm not ever going to do anything."
"Cut to turning 40 after having a C-section, and I was like, ‘Hi!'" she joked.
The "Trainwreck" actress explained that after welcoming her son, Gene, 2, by C-section, as well as facing endometriosis, getting liposuction started to sound more appealing.
"I healed well, and I was like, can I get lipo?" she explained. "And I got lipo —and I'm feeling really good."
In January, Schumer revealed via Instagram that she had undergone liposuction surgery, but stayed tight-lipped about further details.
"I just wanted to say that, because if anybody sees me in pictures or anything and they're like, she looks thinner, and whatever: it's because I had a surgery," she penned, adding that she wanted to be honest with her fans.
"It's too hard, and I just want to be real about it," she wrote.
The mother-of-one also shared a set of photos at the beach, posing in a black swimsuit, paired with a caption thanking her two surgeons.
"I feel good. Finally. It's been a journey thanks for helping me get my strength back @seckinmd (endo) @jordanternermd (lipo)," she wrote at the time. "Never thought I would do anything but talk to me after your uterus doesn't contract for 2.5 years and you turn 40."
