Angelina Jolie Is ‘Heartbroken’ for L.A. Fire Victims and Hosting Evacuated Friends in Her Home
Angelina Jolie is out of the L.A. wildfire evacuation zone in her Los Feliz, California home with her family. The actress, however, is devastated by the fires that have taken at least 24 lives and burned through over 38,000 acres so far. A source spoke to People about how Jolie is committed to helping the victims and is hosting evacuated friends.
The insider said, “Angie is heartbroken for those who have lost their homes, or are impacted by the fires. She’s doing everything she can to help, even opening her home to friends who were forced to evacuate.”
On Thursday night, Jolie told paparazzi that she had friends staying with her and is planning to donate to organizations helping victims soon. “Yeah, we’re having people at our house. I will [be donating],” she said. “Right now, I’m taking care of people close to me and having them at my house.”
Jolie is not the only California-based celebrity who is hosting evacuated friends. On Friday, People confirmed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are also letting loved ones in need stay at their Montecito home, which is 90 miles north of Los Angeles.
The day before, Meghan and Harry released a statement on the wildfires, in which they offered ideas on how to help. One piece of advice they gave was to “open your home. If a friend, loved one, or pet has to evacuate and you are able to offer them a safe haven in your home, please do. And be sure to check in with any disabled or elderly neighbors to see if they need help evacuating.”
