Anthony Ramos and Jasmine Cephas Jones Have Ended Their Engagement

Anthony Ramos and Jasmine Cephas Jones have reportedly split.
The formerly engaged couple had been dating for six years before deciding to go their separate ways, according to a report from People.
The two first met in 2014 during rehearsals for Hamilton—with Ramos playing John Laurens and Philip Hamilton, and Jones playing Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds. They later announced their engagement at the end of 2018 after Ramos proposed in Paris.

2014: Anthony Ramos and Jasmine Cephas Jones meet at Hamilton rehearsals.
The two first met at rehearsals for Hamilton, which was then showing off-Broadway at The Public Theater, in what was reportedly a love-at-first-sight situation when Jones was brought on as a new cast member. According to creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ramos was spotted "sneaking glances" at Jones during their first read-through together with the cast. Miranda revealed this fact years later on Twitter following the official announcement of the couple's engagement.

February 2015: They make their relationship official.
Months into their budding romance, the two made things official on Valentine's Day, as confirmed by a later post in 2017, when the couple commemorated their two-year anniversary.
Prior to Valentine's Day, the pair sprinkled hints of their relationship. Jones revealed in an Instagram post that the two spent New Year's Eve together with a photo of her and Ramos looking close that night.
In the following months, they continued to grow closer on Hamilton, posing as an official item for more adorable photos on Instagram.
February 2016: They take home a Grammy win for Hamilton.
Months after Hamilton's official Broadway debut on August 6, 2015, the couple celebrated their first major milestone at the 2016 Grammy Awards, when Hamilton won Best Musical Theater Album.
"God is good! What a night. Love you HamFam," Ramos wrote on Instagram.
March 2016: They perform at the White House.
Continuing their Hamilton ride of fame, the couple and the rest of the Hamilton cast were invited to perform select songs from the musical for the Obamas at the White House.
Ramos shared the memorable evening on his Instagram with a photo of him and Jones. "Feeling all the feelings right now at the White House!! #Bam4Ham," he wrote in the caption.
"It was one of those moments, it's like two kids from Brooklyn just in the White House, in love, chilling," Ramos later recalled. "That's really special. … That's a moment in time."
June 2016: They attend the Tony Awards.
Together, the couple celebrated another huge milestone at the Tony Awards, with Hamilton's 11 major wins, including awards for Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Original Score.
2018: They reunite their talents for a film project.
After spending a period on separate creative paths following the major success of Hamilton, Ramos and Jones rejoined forces for the film drama Monsters and Men, released at the start of 2019, in their respective roles as Manny and Marisol.
"Working with Jasmine, being able to work with my other half, that's the dream," Ramos told Blackfilm.com that year. "And then now, fast forward, you're working with your girl on this film and we're in this apartment and I see her come out the room after she changes into her costume for the first time with this pregnant belly and you know, we ain't got a kid. But there was this level of excitement and nervousness and joy that came over me."
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Ramos reflected on what it was like sharing an onscreen family with Jones and seeing her wear a faux baby bump for her character. "It was wild, I'm not gonna lie," he said. "When she had the belly and we were playing around and she put on the fake belly and I touched it I was like, 'wow.'" He later disclosed that he'd love to have kids with Jones one day.
September 2018: They attend the Toronto International Film Festival for the premiere of A Star Is Born.
Jones tagged along with Ramos to the Toronto International Film Festival for the premiere of what would become an Academy Award–winning film, A Star Is Born, in which Ramos performs opposite Lady Gaga as Ramon, the grounded best friend of Gaga's Ally.
December 2018: They get engaged in Europe.
On Christmas Eve, following nearly four years of dating, Ramos finally got down on one knee in a marriage proposal to Jones that took place in front of her favorite Arundel Castle in England. The couple both shared loving photos of the tear-shedding moment on Instagram.
"My beloved Anthony, On Christmas Eve you got down on one knee and proposed to me in front of my favorite castle in Arundel that I used to visit all the time as a child. ... I will NEVER forget this magical trip for as long as I live," Jones wrote. "Heres to more Basquiat paintings in Paris, Castle adventures in England, deep convos over a cup of tea, making more movies together, writing and singing songs together, walks with Nala, dancing under many moons in Puerto Rico and MOST of all loving each other for a lifetime through the bad and the good. I love you beyond words and am so excited to continue this awesome journey with you."
Ramos posted a commemorative selfie of the two of them in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, writing, "Thank you for saying yes to writing stories together for the rest of our lives. I'm honored and Blessed to marry you. LEGOOO 💍🕺🏻💃🏽."
The couple have yet to announce the official date of their wedding, but rumors have circulated that it will take place sometime this year.
January 2019: They debut as fiancés on the red carpet.
The pair made their first public appearance as an engaged couple on the red carpet for the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards on January 27, for which Ramos was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture alongside his fellow costars in A Star Is Born.
February 2019: They commemorate their four-year anniversary on Instagram.
On Valentine's Day, the soon-to-be spouses took to Instagram to post loving photos commemorating their four-year relationship.
"Home. I love you so much. Best 4 Yearz a my life," Ramos wrote.
September 2019: They share this cinematic moment onstage.
Ramos serenaded Jones beautifully, while everyone else watching felt more single.
October 2019: Jasmine celebrates Anthony's debut album.
Jones takes to Instagram to congratulate her man on the release of his first album, The Good & The Bad. She posted a selfie of them posing in front of his billboard in Times Square, noting their location near Broadway where the two first met.
"Whats wild is this billboard is on the same block of the show where we first met almost 5 years ago!! Full circle!!! Man oh man, you deserve it all and more. What an incredible moment in time for you my love," she wrote in the caption.
Unsurprisingly, several of his songs from the album were dedicated to and inspired by Jones, including a track called "One More Hour,” reportedly about the magical moment when the two shared their first kiss.
February 2020: They attend the Oscars.
The two stunned the red carpet at the 2020 Oscars in chic, matching white and black ensembles, with the actress wearing a Yanina Couture gown and the actor in a Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo.
May 2020: They spend quarantine together.
The couple appeared to be doing quarantine right. At the start of the month, Jones posted a photo to Instagram revealing her adorable quarantine project with Ramos: the birthing of their new garden.
"Today we planted Lilly of the valley and English Lavender outside our balcony. Excited to open my window and get a smell of the English countryside to remind me of my family and the place I go to relax and recharge," Jones shared.
July 2020: They embark on a tropical getaway.
The couple temporarily escaped to an unknown location. Ramos posted a sneak peek to Instagram of one of their intimately shared moments from the trip. "Got away for a second. We back in da mix," he wrote.
Later that same month, Ramos posted a solo "throwback" photo of his fiancée from their vacation to commemorate her 31st birthday on July 21 in his characteristically poetic and mushy, tear-jerkingly romantic way.
"I could write a whole speech, but when somethin is perfect you don’t need a lot a words," Ramos wrote in the caption. "You. This. You are like the finest wine and your buzz is why you will always be at the TOP of the shelf. We love you Jas. Happy Birthday."
November 2021: They break up.
After six years of dating, Ramos and Jones have reportedly split.
Insiders for People and E! News confirmed that the couple decided to go their separate ways and end their engagement, though the two have yet to directly confirm the news.
