We're back in The Arconia for the new season of Only Murders in the Building and we are hooked. The series stars Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short as Mabel, Charles and Oliver, neighbours and true crime fans who try and solve real life murders.

Season three of the hit show welcomes new stars like Meryl Streep, Paul Rudd and Ashley Park, but the biggest star of all might just be The Arconia itself. So, we can't help but wonder, is it actually a real building? Here's what we know.

That Arconia is a real apartment building in the Upper West Side of New York City called The Belnord. Yes, really!

John Hoffman, co-creator of Only Murders in the Building, said he was obsessed with the building after living on the opposite corner of it when he first moved to the city after university and knew it was the location they needed for the show.

“For our story and our fictional Arconia, I knew we needed a home that carried enough history and elegance to hold a world of mystery and intrigue and one that could also serve as a fitting backdrop worthy of our legendary cast," he told House Beautiful.

John shared that for the season one finale, he even invited the actual tenants of the building to be extras. "Many took us up on that and I got to meet so many tenants of the building who were lovely and generous," he told Thrillist.

"I think at the time they enjoyed a switch-up, and it's happening right outside. They can look out their windows and watch Selena Gomez and Steve Martin play a scene together. It became, 'This is a nice change from me sitting in my apartment, looking at my laptop.'"

We'd love to live there too, but, apartments go for upwards of four million dollars. Cries!
