Ariana Grande's Pink Flower-Covered Minidress Is So Wicked-Coded
'Wicked' isn't even out yet and she's already in Glinda mode.
Fans are all waiting to see Ariana Grande's take on Glinda in the new Wicked movie this holiday season (that bubble scene is going to be epic), but with months to go before the film's premiere, it's clear that the superstar singer and Nickelodeon alumane is already in Oz, at least when it comes to her fashion picks. In Grande's latest Instagram post, she has on a sheer naked-style dress covered in blooming poppies — it doesn't get much more Wizard of Oz than that.
The flowers are in various shades of red, pink, and white, and Grande finished the look with poppy-red slingback heels and wore her blonde hair pushed back in a half-up style. Other photos in her carousel included shots of her dog and a video clip of her with co-star Cynthia Erivo at this year's Super Bowl, where they wore coordinating custom-made Louis Vuitton sequined jackets.

Oscar de la Renta shared a behind-the-scenes peek at how Grande’s floral dress came together. The look comes from the label's Spring 2024 collection, and the photos show both 2-D and sculptural 3-D poppies as well as delicate lily of the valley blossoms on a sheer, beige-pink underlayer.
"Swipe to see the magic of the #odlratelier, as poppies are placed and sewn for @arianagrande. #WickedMovie #odlrspring2024," the brand captioned a post that showed each poppy being placed on a dress form.
Fans of Taylor Swift may recognize the dress, which looks very similar to an Oscar de la Renta look that she wore to the Grammys in 2021. Swift's dress featured long bell sleeves and similar allover floral appliqués (though they appeared to be daisies and sunflowers), also attached to a sheer underpinning.
She added Christian Louboutin heels to her look and even had a matching floral mask, as the show was held at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
