Ashanti Is Reportedly Pregnant With Nelly’s Baby

The pair rekindled their romance earlier this year after breaking up in 2013.

Can someone check what year it is? Because not only are Ashanti and Nelly — AKA one of the early aughts most notable power couples — back together over a decade after they last split, but it seems they’ll soon be welcoming their first child together.

According to a source for Us Weekly, the rapper and musician, who dated on and off from 2003 to 2013, are gearing up for parenthood. “Nelly and Ashanti are welcoming their first baby together,” the source told the outlet.

While the new addition will mark the rekindled pair’s first venture into parenthood as a couple, Nelly also shares two children with his ex, Channetta Valentine.

News of the pregnancy comes several months after Ashanti first confirmed she was back with Nelly by wearing a clutch embellished with a throwback photo of the pair when attending the 2023 MTV VMAs in Sept.

"We’re in a great place,” the singer shared at the time when asked about the reunion. “I think it’s pretty obvious. Yeah, we’re together.”

Hours prior, Nelly also confirmed their relationship during an appearance on Boss Moves With Rasheeda, telling the host, “Yeah, we’re cool again. I think it surprised both of us, though. It wasn’t anything that was like, I don’t think, planned. I think we both was pretty much doing what we do.”

He added, “But sometimes being separate, you understand one another more, where you could be like, ‘Well, yo, let me exactly see, maybe, what they see.’ ’Cause you know we all can be defensive sometimes in our own relationships. And we know we’re wrong, but we’re going to stand on it, you what I mean?
