The top 20 Canadian cities for summer affairs, according to Ashley Madison
One city has managed to maintain its place as the number one hot spot for three years in a row.
An online dating service marketed to married people has released a bizarre rating of Canadian cities.
This week, Ashley Madison released its annual list of "Canada's top 20 cities for summer affairs."
The controversial service analyzed its sign-up data between June 20, 2022 to Sept. 22, 2022 on a per capita basis for the list.
"With the hot summer months just around the corner, Canadians are heating things up in more ways than one!," read an email release.
"As one of the world’s most progressive countries, Canada is no stranger to the appeal of non-monogamy and more Canadians are exploring possibilities beyond the confines of monogamy."
One city has managed to maintain its place as the number one hot spot for three years in a row. With a population of just over 110,000, St. John's in Newfoundland was ranked as the best hot spot for non-monogamy in the country.
Fredericton moved up one spot from the previous year, in what the service said shows "the east coast is well-represented in Canada’s top five."
Some of the data came as a surprise, according to the service.
"Ontario’s very own Barrie, Ont. ranks #2 jumping from #10 in 2022," the release quipped, "There must be something in the Lake Simcoe waters!"
Among the newcomers to this year’s list were Ontario's Oshawa and Hamilton.

Though it's based in Canada, Ashley Madison is available in 52 countries and reported its membership crossed 70 million at the end of 2020.
