The picture was take by Idaho Statesman photographer Sarah Miller at a dance hosted by Mountain View leadership students for disabled students who attend schools in the West Ada district.

When photographing the event, Miller said she looked and waited for great moments to happen between those in attendance.

“I consider things like body language, facial expressions, movement, color and framing,” said Miller. “I keyed in on these two guests because of their outgoingness to hit the dance floor with no reservations.”

Miller said it felt good to share positive moments and joyful scenes from the community.

“I want viewers to stop and smile when they see my work, and I want the people in my photos to feel special, too,” said Miller. “I’ve always appreciated my ability to share with viewers a moment they have never seen before, especially the small, sweet moments between everyday people.”
