It's happening! A movie adaptation of Colleen Hoover's novel Verity is officially in the works, and the best news of all? Anne Hathaway has just been cast in the role of Verity.

Hathaway is teaming up again with The Idea of You's director Michael Showalter to bring the movie adaptation to the big screen. While the movie is still in the early stage of production, we are beyond excited to see this thriller come to life.

Want to know more about the Verity movie? Here's all the details we've got so far.

When was the Verity movie confirmed?

Verity was published by Colleen Hoover, who also wrote It Ends With Us, in 2018 and in May earlier this year it was confirmed Amazon MGM Studios would be adapting the novel into a movie.

This isn't Hoover's first novel to be made into a movie as earlier this year we saw the adaptation of It Ends With Us starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.

What is Verity about?

Verity is likely to follow a similar plot to the novel and the story follows a young struggling writer by the name of Lowen Ashleigh. Facing financial ruin Lowen accepts the job of a lifetime to finish the novels of best-selling writer Verity Crawford.

Verity has had a mysterious accident which has left her unable to finish her works and so her husband Jeremy hires Lowen to do it for her.

However, as Lowen spends more time on the Crawford estate and digs further into Verity's novels and unfinished manuscript, she discovers a chilling secret about Verity's past and finds out things are not exactly as they seem for this seemingly perfect family.

Who is in the cast of Verity?

Very exciting news! Anne Hathaway has officially been cast in the role of Verity, the mysterious writer whose works Lowen must continue.

Hathaways' role was confirmed on 20th November 2024, alongside the appointment of Michael Showalter as director of the project.

So far the roles of Lowen and Jeremy are yet to be announced, but we are so excited to see the development of this movie.
