Avril Lavigne rocks pop-punk glam in latest photo shoot: 'These pictures are unreal'
Avril Lavigne is bringing pop-punk glamour to the cover of Harper's Bazaar.
On Tuesday, the 37-year-old took to Instagram to share a few snaps from her latest photoshoot, and fans are loving that she "stayed true to her style roots."
"Who wants a new song this week?" the "Complicated" singer captioned the post for her more than 10 million followers.
While fans were eager to hear new music from Lavigne, they also praised the singer for her "consistent" sense of style.
"You gotta love the fact that this woman hasn't changed at all in the last two decades," one Instagram user commented.
"Her sound and style have been so consistent, she hasn't caved in to changing beauty trends or tried to fit herself into a box," another wrote. "People really don't give her enough credit for her authenticity and consistency. Like, she's on the cover of Harper's Bazaar and she's still giving punk. Love it."
"These pictures are unreal," another wrote. "Such a look."
"Still serving pop-punk after all these years," a fan said. "We love to see it."
"The Canadian pop-punk queen has not aged a day or changed her aesthetic at all. I'm obsessed with the commitment and so excited for a new song," someone else wrote..
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly last month, Lavigne shed some light on reprising her pop-punk princess title, two decades after the release of her debt album, "Let Go."
"It's so crazy," she said. "I really went back to what sounds I originally was influenced by at the beginning of my career. To the core, I'm a kid from a small town who listened to bands like Blink-182 and Green Day and NOFX in high school, and I tapped into that. It just felt like it was time to make this type of an album."
