Bakery in a vintage trailer brings baguettes, blueberry cinnamon rolls to Lake Norman

Looking for an on-the-go, homemade breakfast option in Cornelius? Sabores Bakery, operating in a new vintage trailer on Catawba Avenue in front of LKN Car Wash offers fresh bakery items such as sweet rolls, cachitos, baguettes and a coveted blueberry cinnamon roll.

The made-from-scratch bakery, which launched in May, was founded by mom-and-daughter duo Zulenka Bueno and Daniele Amaral.

“It hasn’t been easy, it has been a year of many emotions and experiences that has led us to be where we are today,” the owners wrote via Instagram, “Definitely hard work pays off. Forever grateful with God, life and all our clients who had been there supporting us from the beginning.”

Among some of its main menu items is The GOAT Sandwich, made with smoked ham and goat cheese cream with bacon and onion jam on a homemade baguette. Or, if you’re looking for another option with smoked ham, go for Sabores’ Ham Cachito.

“The Conchito I had last week was delicious and the perfect light lunch,” customer Faye Skotidas wrote via Sabores’ Instagram.

More of its main menu items include:

A Pastry Dog, made with a beef frank wrapped in Sabores’ homemade puff pastry and a honey mustard pickle sauce
The Beef Puff Pastry, a delicate pastry filled with lean ground beef and Italian sausage.

Specializing in small-batch items, Sabores Bakery also offers a variety sweet options, which include:

The creamy Blueberry Cinnamon Roll is “a peace of heaven combination in a roll.” The roll, filled with homemade blueberry and basil jam, is finished with Sabores’ rich blueberry cream cheese frosting.
The Sweet Rolls, also known as “pan dulce” in Venezuela, are made with a soft bread, with topping options like butter and white cheese soaked in coffee.
The Orange Bambolini is fried dough filled with smooth orange crème patissière and bits of dark chocolate.
