Balmain Beauty is back with a new collection of fragrances
The French luxury fashion house Balmain is making its official return to the beauty sphere with an all-new collection of fragrances. The perfume line, titled Les Éternels, marks the relaunch of Balmain Beauty and consists of eight unique scents, each drawing directly from the brand's signature Parisian heritage, combined with creative director Olivier Rousteing's vision of "modern, avant-garde beauty". The Les Éternels collection will launch in Selfridges on 2 September 2o24.
“Balmain Beauty gives you the freedom to live your truth, free and powerful,” said Rousteing in a statement. “Beauty is about being yourself and having the confidence to embrace who you are. Fashion cannot exist without beauty, and beauty cannot exist without fashion. Beauty is part of your silhouette, of who you are, just like the way you dress. I want to represent all the beauties of the world and welcome everyone without exceptions.”
Balmain is far from the first luxury fashion house to venture into the cosmetics and fragrance space. From Celine and Carolina Herrera to Dior and Dries Van Noten, the relationship between style and scent has been steadfast since the French designer Paul Poiret launched his first fashion fragrance, Nuit Persane, in 1911.
Alongside the perfume launch, the brand has confirmed the actress and singer Dove Cameron as the face of its hero scent, Carbone. The scent marries maximalist musk notes with soft minimalist aromas of rose, with hints of tobacco, suede and cumin throughout.
Other fragrances in the collection include Sel d'Ambre (a salty amber); Vent Vert (a floral green); Rouge (a fruity floral); Ivoire (a woody floral); Bronze (a woody chypre); Ébène (a woody amber); and Bleu Infini (a woody aromatic). The stylish flankers draw inspiration from the brand's original perfume bottle, which launched in 1946.
