Barkley Village restaurant owner drops price more than 50% as retirement looms
Barkley Village restaurant Luna’s Bistro was listed for sale back in 2023, and its owner recently lowered his asking price by more than 50% in hopes of retiring soon.
Jesse Cantu, owner of Luna’s Bistro and Jalapeno’s mexican restaurants across Whatcom County, is ready to retire at age 72 and hopes to sell Luna’s Bistro soon. Cantu plans to pass on Jalapeno’s ownership to his son, according to an email from Cantu.
Luna’s Bistro was listed for sale in 2023 for $254,900. The asking price was subsequently dropped to $249,000. The asking price recently was slashed to $125,900, a real estate steal compared to Whatcom County’s median home prices.
“Everything is included in the price except for the food and beverage inventory,” Cantu said. All kitchen equipment and furniture are included.
Luna’s Bistro is regularly open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 3004 Cinema PL in Bellingham.
