Bastille frontman backs campaign against ‘frustrating’ ticket touts
Bastille frontman Dan Smith is hitting out at ticket touts as the band announces a UK arena tour starting November 6.
The tour will benefit Youth Music's Rescue the Roots campaign, supporting grassroots music.
Smith is encouraging fans to participate in government consultation aimed at fairer ticket pricing, citing “frustrating” inflated resale prices for artists like Taylor Swift and Oasis as examples.
He has partnered with O2 to launch ‘Stamp It Tout’, a platform to help fans avoid scams, and supports a 10 per cent price cap on resale tickets.
O2's research suggests touts cost fans an extra £145m annually.
