These Beautiful Photos Celebrate Kids and Adults With Down Syndrome
October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month—an opportunity to honor the incredible, capable children and adults living with Down Syndrome. According to the CDC, about 6,000 babies are born in the United States with Down syndrome each year. Those affected develop an extra chromosome, an occurrence medically known as trisomy, which can cause varied developmental issues.
Although children and adults with Down Syndrome share the same genetic condition, it's important to remember that every person living with the disability is unique, with interests and a personality all their own, and these beautiful photos prove that there's #NothingDownAboutIt.
