Begun In 2020, CT Hospice's 'Lights Of Love' Is Underway Until Dec. 19

From Connecticut Hospice:

BRANFORD, CT — On Nov. 24, Connecticut Hospice hosted a tree-lighting ceremony to kick off the annual Lights of Love Holiday Fundraiser.

What started back in 2020 during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to safely unite the community as well as providing patients and families some holiday cheer, has evolved into an annual tradition for many throughout the Hospice community.

This year, the day was filled with live music, festive treats, pictures with Santa, and a magical tree and gazebo lighting with help from a former patient's family member.

During this time of year, The Connecticut Hospice grounds transform into a winter wonderland with a menorah and 30 live trees lining the entryway. From the strands of lights to the 40 raffle items that adorn the lobby, this fundraiser is winner. Lights of Love not only adds festivity and cheer to the hospice environment, but also speaks to the core of the essential, life-honoring work done by Hospice staff and volunteers.

This holiday season, Lights of Love will continue offering many ways for you to participate. Whether you enter the raffle to win your favorite item(s), sponsor a live tree, purchase a strand of lights or a Menorah light in honor of a loved one, you will also be supporting the work of The Connecticut Hospice to provide the best in hospice care.

Here's a sample of the diverse and creative items available in this year's raffle: Two roundtrip Avelo Airlines tickets, four tickets to a UConn Men's game, four tickets to a UConn Women's game, Quinnipiac Men's Ice Hockey game and a $30 Eli's gift card, a Husky Brand 270 piece tool set and $100 Home Depot gift card, two nights-out dinner and a play at Yale Rep and at Legacy Theatre prizes, a Coach bag, myriad holiday themed art and crafts pieces, food baskets, and more.
