‘I Believe in Joe Hendry,’ and so does Impact Wrestling. Many big matches set for Slammiversary

A Scottish superstar pro wrestler, Joe Hendry is quite entertaining.

People are believing in Hendry, which is his mantra: “I Believe in Joe Hendry”

Impact Wrestling President Scott D’Amore is now one of those believers.

Hendry took his talents to Impact Wrestling, where he convinced D’Amore to give him a chance, basically 30 days to make an impact, and he did just that.

Hendry, 35, became the Impact Wrestling Digital Media champion. Not only winning a title, but Hendry incorporates his song parodies and original tunes about his opposition to entertain crowds.

Kenny King is his latest opponent, which inspired Hendry to write/perform the song “Stripper Kenny.”

Hendry defends his Impact Wrestling Digital Media title against King (with Sheldon Jean) at Impact Wrestling’s biggest show of the year, “Slammiversary,” on July 15 via FITE TV from St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Founded in 2002, Impact Wrestling is in its 22nd year. Quite a run for this company which Jeff and Jerry Jarrett and Bob Ryder devised while fishing.

More about Joe Hendry and interview

Trained in pro wrestling by Killian Dain, Mikey Whiplash, Robbie Brookside and Marty Jones at the Source Wrestling School in Glasgow, Scotland, Hendry made his debut in 2013. He also trained and competed in amateur wrestling not far after, beginning at age 26.

Here is my audio interview with Impact Wrestling Digital Media Champion Joe Hendry.

A black belt in judo, Hendry transitioned to amateur freestyle wrestling in 2014 to help with his pro wrestling training. He won the British Senior National Championship in freestyle wrestling in 2017 and was selected to Team Scotland for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. He made the Round of 16, losing to Australia’s Nicolaas Verreynne. Following the Commonwealth Games, Hendry won the British Senior National Championship in Greco-Roman wrestling in 2018.
