Bella Hadid’s totally backless gown plunges alllllll the way to her bum

When Bella Hadid stepped onto the 2024 Cannes Film Festival red carpet in a see-through Saint Laurent dress that completely freed the nipple, it only confirmed her long-held title as queen of Cannes. But with the festival continuing through the rest of the week, concluding on Saturday 25 May, the transparent design could hardly be the peak in her French Rivieria wardrobe.

So, how do you top the naked dress to end all naked dresses? With vintage Dsquared2, obviously. Yep, turns out we needn't have worried as just a short 24 hours later [Tuesday 21 May] Bella was back on the red carpet in a stunning silver silk gown.

The iridescent design from the designer's autumn winter 2006 collection looked almost magical as it reflected the light of the camera flashes and flowed easily in the seaside breeze. A plunging neckline was accentuated with an empire waist embellished with a row of sparkling diamonds that complimented the Chopard jewels Bella accessorised with.

As well as the diamond drop necklace, chandelier earrings and XL cocktail rings, Bella added further twinkling to her look with metallic mirrored silver mule sandals.

No doubt a breathtaking ensemble, but then she turned around...

Nbd, but this dress is totally backless (!!) plunging allllll the way down to her bum. The only thing adorning her bare back is the diamond-encrusted straps that elegantly drip off her shoulders. We have no words, it's simply *chef's kiss*.

While Bella's queen of Cannes status is unquestionable, we've also been championing the model as queen of vintage due to the number of archival outfits she's been pulling recently. Her pre-Met Gala vintage Dior see-through boho dress being one such example.

And the fact her Dsquared dress was one of four – yes, four! – vintage looks Bella wore in one day backs this claim tenfold. First up was a vintage Gianni Versace floral print gold satin mini dress worn with Chanel pumps (also vintage), followed by a Gucci nude design featuring a seriously low-cut neckline from the spring summer 2005 archive.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Bella shared a photo of the back of her Dolce & Gabbana spring summer 2003 pink and gold figure-hugging dress, the snap giving a close-up to the corset-like lace-up rear of the design.

Another gorgeous dress to complete her vintage style marathon. All that's left to say is, whether at Cannes or in a designer archival look, long may Bella's reign continue.
