Bellingham events this month: Cider festival, SeaFeast, Doctober, trivia and more on tap
October is here, and autumn seems to be in full swing. The Bellingham Herald has put together a guide of fun, local events for you to enjoy this month. Bellingham events
▪ Doctober, Pickford Film Center’s documentary film festival, lasts throughout October showing more than 35 various films. The month-long festival kicks off at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3, with the premiere of a new documentary “Red Fever.” Tickets cost $13 and can be purchased online in advance or at the box office. Pickford Film Center is at 1318 Bay St. in Bellingham.
▪ The eighth annual Bellingham Seafeast returns to Zuanich Point Park the weekend of Oct. 5-6. The maritime festival is free to attend and will include live music, vendors, a beer and wine garden, educational panels and maritime tours, boat rides and the Lummi Nation traditional barbecue salmon. Zuanich Point Park is at 2600 N Harbor Loop Dr.
▪ The Bellingham Dockside Market will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 at 722 Coho Way. The market allows fishermen to sell freshly caught fish directly from their boats. For the latest information on each week’s vendors, visit the market’s Facebook page.
▪ The Bellingham Farmers Market is still on its regular weekly schedule, with 100 vendors selling produce, flowers, handmade products and more. The market runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday at The Depot at 1100 Railroad Ave.
▪ The fourth annual Sippin’ on Cider festival will return to to Lost Giants Cider Company from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19. Tickets cost $30 each in advance and include a 4-ounce tasting glass and eight drink tickets. Participants can try out a variety of ciders, live music, yard games, food trucks and raffles. Lost Giants Cider Company is at 1200 Meador Ave.

Live music in Bellingham

▪ The Aslan Brewing Co. Depot welcomes local artists throughout August. For the music lineup, check the schedule online. Aslan Brewing Co. Depot is at 1322 N. State St.
▪ Kulshan Brewing Company’s various breweries are hosting live music throughout August. For the music lineup and locations, check the schedule online.
▪ The Blue Room, a live music and event venue, regularly hosts live performers and performances, including jazz nights, local artists, and improv nights. Tickets are available online in advance. The Blue Room is at 202 E. Holly St.
▪ The Shakedown, a live music venue and bar, regularly hosts live music and performers. Tickets are available online in advance. The Shakedown is at 1212 N State St.
▪ Wild Buffalo House of Music, a live music and event venue, regularly hosts live music and performers. Tickets are available online in advance. Wild Buffalo House of Music is at 208 W. Holly St.
