Bellingham taco crawl a tasty way to support United Way and help crown area’s favorite
A local nonprofit is hosting a fundraiser that includes a fun twist — a taco crawl offering a chance to try tacos from 10 Bellingham restaurants.
The second annual Tastiest Taco 2024 Competition and Fundraiser runs June 4 through July 16 and is being hosted by United Way of Whatcom County, an organization that works to “invest donations into vetted local nonprofits to create lasting change,” according to the organization’s website.
During the competition and fundraiser, the organization will be selling 375 booklets that can be redeemed for one free taco at 10 various Bellingham restaurants.
The winner of last year’s contest, Black Sheep, is among the 10 restaurants participating this year. Each has selected a specific taco from their menu to offer:

“All businesses participating in this year’s competition are donating tacos for this event. United Way asks that all participants support businesses and purchase more than the free taco when visiting,” a news release from the organization states.
Participants will be able to vote for their favorite taco, and the winning restaurant will be announced the week of July 21.
All proceeds from the fundraiser competition will go to United Way of Whatcom County’s Community Impact Fund, which “works to make sure that our most vulnerable friends and neighbors have access to the tools and resources they need to get to a stable place, and that those resources continue to be available for all who need them,” according to the news release.
Each “Ticket to Tacos” booklet costs $30 and can be purchased online and then received by mail or picked up in person. For details, visit www.unitedwaywhatcom.org.
