The best fashion from the 2024 Oscars after-parties
The 2024 Academy Awards took place in Los Angeles last night, bringing with it plenty of excellent red-carpet style. The night saw the likes of Carey Mulligan, Michelle Yeoh and Lupita Nyong'o pull out all the stops with their custom couture, but the fabulous red-carpet fashion did not end there – there was also plenty to enjoy at the various after-parties.
The hot ticket, as always, was the Vanity Fair event, which saw all the biggest names in Hollywood in attendance. While the fashion at the official ceremony is always the epitome of elegance, the dress code at the parties is a little more relaxed, meaning there is often more fun to be had.
This year saw Sydney Sweeney in a Marc Bouwer dress once worn by Angelina Jolie, Kendall Jenner wearing that Maison Margiela collection and Jennifer Lawrence embracing vintage Givenchy.
Below, we round up our 10 favourite looks from the 2024 Oscars after-parties.
Sydney Sweeney in vintage Marc Bouwer
Sydney Sweeney made a real statement for the Vanity Fair party, wearing the Marc Bouwer dress that Angelina Jolie wore to the 2004 Oscars. The design, which was white silk and very Marilyn Monroe-inspired, was a perfect choice for the star. She added custom Messika jewellery.

Jennifer Lawrence also chose to dip into the archives for the event. The actress wore a sheer, embellished dress from Givenchy's autumn/winter 1996 collection by John Galliano.
Michelle Yeoh in Balenciaga
Michelle Yeoh wore a sparkly Balenciaga gown to the Academy Awards, and then changed into a structured black design by the house for the afterparty. The dress featured exaggerated shoulders and a beautiful gold leaf detail. She accessorised with Cindy Chao jewellery.
Greta Lee in Loewe
Greta Lee finished off her very successful run of award-season style wearing a slinky Loewe slip dress with a low back and detailed straps.
Hunter Schafer in Bottega Veneta

Emily Ratajkowski opted for a playful white Jacquemus look which featured a slightly off-centre bodice.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wore a black dress by Valentino with cut-out detail, an enormous train and black leather gloves to the event, bringing plenty of red-carpet drama.
Margot Robbie in vintage Mugler
Margot Robbie stepped out of her style comfort zone – and moved away from the Barbie press tour – in a vintage Mugler design from the house's 1996 collection.
Alexandra Daddario
Alexandra Daddario had some fun with her Alexis Mabille ensemble, which featured an enormous circular bow detail that she swooshed around in. She teamed it with Rahaminov Diamonds.
