It’s been a few years now since I started getting the kids in my family toys, books or other gifts as part of their Eidi. Growing up, in my family, Eidi was always money. However, over the years, I find that a physical gift does a better job getting kids — especially the younger ones — excited for Eid. I do still include some cash to keep the tradition alive, but the gifts are always a bigger hit.
If you're still looking for a last-minute Eid gift for kids — or are just looking for more information on Eid — read on for all the details.
When is Eid 2025?
This year Eid al-Fitr is expected to be on Sunday, March 30, 2025 or Monday, March 31, 2025. As always, it will depend on the sighting of the moon and so the exact date won't be finalized until the night before, which, let's be real, makes it all the more exciting.
What are traditional Eid gifts?
While this can vary from culture to culture, money is probably the most common traditional Eid gift. Sweets of any variety, like chocolates, fruit and dessert follow as a close second, and are a go-to when visiting friends and or family for Eid. For some families, there are also gift traditions that begin before Eid day, which include buying new clothes and accessories to be worn on Eid day.
What are the best Eid gifts for kids in 2025?
Like I said, it's been a few years since I began getting kids in family physical gifts, and I've learned some tricks and tips.
The first couple of years I did this, I always felt as though the gifts had to be Eid-themed, but over time I’ve realized that doesn't really matter. The point of the gift is to get them excited about Eid, so anything they enjoy would help achieve that. So now, I usually include something with Islamic or Eid significance, and pair it with treats and toys based on each kid's preferences.
This year I’m shopping for kids ranging from a few months old to kids who are almost teens. Below, I've rounded up the best Eid gifts for kids of all ages.
I've purchased a copy of this book for every kid in my family at this point. It is one of the best Eid books I have come across. It not only lays out how Eid is celebrated, but it also does such a great job explaining the essence of Eid and in a way kids can actually comprehend — I have seen it first-hand with my daughter. We have read this book more times than I can count and it is always such a treat and great for all ages.
If you prefer cash, these Eid money cards can help elevate the traditional presentation and add to the excitement.
Audio players have become increasingly popular for children lately, making this a great option for Eid and beyond. A wide variety of cards are available ranging across multiple genres, topics and suitable for a range of ages. There is even a Ladybird Stories for Eid card perfect for the occasion. Audio players also do a great job to help reduce screen time and inspire independence and imagination. I will say there is a learning curve with these — it took my daughter a few days to get on board with the idea an audio player and fully grasp the concept, but after that initial period, it is a great addition to any playroom.
This colouring roll makes such a great joint gift for kids and adults alike. An activity everyone can participate in on Eid day that can be used as a banner for years to come, or even as a yearly tradition. I absolutely love the personal touch this banner can bring to Eid celebrations, while also getting the kids involved and excited.
The Playmobil sets are always a hit. They're available in so many themes, so it's easy to find something for anyone. I especially love the concept of building out the toy first, which makes this is a 2-in-1 — an activity and toy. This specific one goes even further with the colouring aspect.
For older kids, this Lego set is a fun way to showcase an Islamic theme. It also doubles as home décor for Ramadan and Eid — or all year round. It's a great as an individual or family activity.
Barbie never gets old — and this dreamhouse makes a dreamy gift that can grow with the child. Additional Barbies can be added each year. I also really love that this is made up of plastic, making the fear of it toppling over onto a child less scary. The cherry on top: there is a mini version available too if you are looking to spend less, or have it as a to-go option.
I'm a big fan of crafts — they're a great way to give kids an activity to do on Eid day and have a keepsake for that Eid. These canvas painting kits are available in six different designs and the markers are included. The seller also has a wooden mosque craft set, a mini hanging wooden pendant paint set and a colouring mug.
Growing up, I was a huge fan of Barney, and these next-gen toys made me super excited to pass on that joy. Plus, a bus is such a versatile toy that's great for open-ended play, so a win-win.
You can't go wrong with sweet treats especially when it comes to kids. Any chocolate, candy or treat will do. I love using Eid specific wrapping paper or treat bags to help emphasize that these chocolates are being given to celebrate the occasion.
This bubble machine is a great gift for spring. It will entertain the kids with little effort — possibly even on Eid if the weather cooperates!
