Coach
Coach’s spring/summer 2023 runway was a back-to-school- ready collection replete with varsity lettering, jelly shoes, and backpacks. It was also the perfect opportunity for the debut of the brand’s newest global ambassador, Lil Nas X, who closed the show in a leather vest and shorts. Here’s to many more Instagrammable moments from the iconic rapper, decked out in Coach, natch.—Kevin LeBlanc, fashion associate

Khaite
Creative director Catherine Holstein took us on the road to the southwest with her spring/summer 2023 collection. Motorcycle tough meets Hollywood glam for the next season, with oversized jackets featuring bold zippers and rivets, snakeskin prints, endless fringe, and crystals. Yes, there are sure to be pieces that land among the street style set and A-list celebs alike (even, perhaps, on Katie Holmes, who sat front row for the show), but there are also the staples that’ll be in your forever wardrobe, which might just be what Khaite does best.—Dale Chong, senior fashion commerce editor

Sandy Liang
Sandy Liang takes the downtown cool girl to school with her latest ready-to-wear collection, which put a modern spin on staples like pleated skirts, khaki, and Mary Jane flats (which the label just launched ahead of NYFW). The ’90s were also very much still alive and well here, with spaghetti strap bra tops, square necklines and tube tops, and impeccable tailoring. The spring/summer 2023 collection feels much sleeker compared to the designers’ past frothy, vibrant collections, but fear not, that girl is still there with her ruffles, patchwork, and sequins—she’s simply grown up.—Dale Chong, senior fashion commerce editor

Angel Chang
Angel Chang presented an inspiring collection of wardrobe basics that are notable for many reasons, but mainly because of the production of her garments. Everything is made without electricity, with natural dyes, and is actively committed to zero carbon fashion. The blanket pictured here was created in collaboration with the Diné Navajo, as Chang sets out to redefine how and why we consume clothing. An optimistic start to a long fashion month, indeed.—Kevin LeBlanc, fashion associate

Christian Siriano
Christian Siriano has long been a champion of inclusivity in the fashion industry, and thank god for that. I always think of Leslie Jones; after the comedian tweeted that no one would dress her for an upcoming premiere, Siriano swooped in and custom-designed a stunning gown for her. Though she sadly wasn’t in attendance at this season’s show, held at Elizabeth Taylor’s former townhouse in midtown, Janet Jackson was, so there’s that!—Claire Stern, digital deputy editor
