Prince William arrives in New York City today, kicking off a two-day visit for the Earthshot Prize's annual innovation summit. During his time in the city, he will attend the summit and a variety of other engagements around town. To mark his return to New York—his last visit was in December 2014—we took a stroll down memory lane of the best royal visits to New York City over the decades. From Queen Elizabeth's visit to Bloomingdale's to Princess Diana's stylish outings in the city to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's visit earlier this year, here are the best photos of the royal family in New York City through the years:

Earlier this year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the Ms. Foundation Women of Vision Awards in Manhattan. "The narrative on repeat that surrounded me allowed me to recognize that part of my greater value and purpose in life was to advocate for those who felt unheard, to stand up to injustice, and to be not afraid of saying what you know is true, and what is just, and what is right," Meghan said during her speech.

Last summer, the Sussexes were in New York City when Prince Harry delivered a keynote speech at the United Nations General Assembly to honor Nelson Mandela’s legacy.
November 2021
The Salute to Freedom Gala, which raised funds for the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum's educational programs, was Harry and Meghan's first major event since stepping back from their roles as senior members of the royal family.
