Bethenny Frankel says this Kosas colour corrector that combats dark under-eye circles is 'excellent' — but I'm torn on whether it's worth the price
Sephora shoppers say it's "magic in a tube."
Are you tired of dealing with dark circles? Whether they're caused by allergies, genetics or just plain lack of sleep, they can throw you off your game.
That's where Kosas Revealer Extra Bright Serum-Powered Colour Correctors for Dark Circles comes into play. Although the multitasking serum-powered makeup hybrid is almost $50, it claims to offer full coverage for dark circles while brightening and depuffing. That made my mom — who's in her 60s — and I curious to put it to the test.
To intrigue us further, reality TV star Bethenny Frankel, who's often reviews makeup for mature skin on TikTok, raved about the Kosas colour corrector in a recent video.
"This is excellent," she exclaims after she dots the product under her eyes and blends it out with a brush. "Kosas you did a thing. Don't know what it is, but I like it."
Kosas Colour Corrector: What is it and what are the claims?
This "powerful" colour corrector is formulated to target the root causes of under-eye issues: discolouration, puffiness and sagging.
Key ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, caffeine and dipeptide-two reduce puffiness, while acetyl and tetrapeptide-five help smooth, firm and minimize signs of aging.
This full-coverage dark circle corrector brightens and transforms tired eyes.

The Kosas Revealer Extra Bright Colour Corrector features a creamy, blendable formula that is said to provide long-lasting wear without creasing or caking. It's also deemed safe for sensitive skin, and clinically proven to be non-comedogenic, which means it won't clog your pores. It's available in five flexible shades, with colours suited for very light to rich-deep skin tones.
Keep in mind that this is not marketed as a concealer. However, it does make a great base.
First impressions
As someone who deals with dark circles, I was genuinely excited to try this product. My mom, on the other hand, doesn't have dark circles — but is always on the hunt for mature skin-friendly products.
Since my mom and I both have light skin tones, we decided to both give the shade Illusion — which is a pink-peach colour corrector — a go. We had high hopes that this pink-peach shade would counteract the bluish hues of dark under-eye circles, leaving our skin looking radiant and refreshed.
Here's what our skin looks like without any skincare or face makeup.
And below, is what our under-eyes look like after applying and blending out three dots of the colour corrector.
We both found the colour corrector super simple to apply and blend out. The product melts seamlessly into the skin and doesn't accentuate fine lines or wrinkles on application.
However, I noticed it had a slight scent upon opening the tube. My mom didn't notice it as much, and we both didn't think it was overpowering. Overall, we agreed the scent didn't impact the application process because it seemed to disappear after we applied and blended the product out.
We both applied full faces of makeup over top of the colour corrector to get the full picture of how the product sits and wears. Since this colour corrector is designed as a base, we layered our favourite concealers over top. We both found that it initially layered really well over our other cream and powder products. However, as the day went on, I did notice some minor issues with creasing.
Pros 👍
It's creamy: The formula is super creamy and seamlessly blends into the skin.
It's easy to apply and blend: The applicator helps control the level of coverage while the formula effortlessly melts into the skin.
It's brightening: We noticed results after just one application.
It's safe for sensitive skin: It doesn't irritate skin or cause breakouts.
Cons 👎
The price: The $44 price tag isn't super affordable for most consumers.
The scent: The product has a slight scent that some may find off-putting.
It's not very long-wearing: Despite long-lasting claims, I noticed some issues with it creasing throughout the day.
Shoppers say this is a "magic" product.
Is it necessary?: This isn't a concealer replacement; so if you don't want to conceal your dark circles, it may not be for you.
What Sephora shoppers are saying
⭐️ 4.2/5 stars
💬 220+ ratings
👁 "This stuff is magic in a tube!"
The Kosas colour corrector has a 4.2-star rating from more than 220 reviews.
"It lasts all day and makes the under-eye look flawless," said one shopper.
Others loved how the product's formula is packed with a ton of skincare benefits. "I’m a peptide gal so the peptide formula is a huge plus," revealed another.
While my mom and I both found the product to feel quite hydrating, some customers noted the formula was too thick or drying. Others, like me, had issues with the product creasing.
Some consumers also said the scent was a deal breaker.
"The smell was so overpowering and bad that I had to remove [it] after less [than] 15 minutes!" said one shopper.
While the product has a 4.5-star rating, some shoppers say the scent is overwhelming.
Final verdict: Is it worth it?
After testing and wearing the Kosas Revealer Extra Bright Serum-Powered Colour Correctors for Dark Circles all day, my mom and I were both fairly pleased with the results.
That said, the $44 price tag is pretty steep, so we have differing opinions on whether or not it's worth your money.
For someone with dark under-eye circles, I can see myself reaching for this on a daily basis, and I actually think the product has enough coverage to replace my usual under-eye concealer, even though it is marketed as a colour corrector.
My mom, on the other hand, doesn't suffer from dark circles — so she just found this to be an unnecessary step in her routine.
Although the product offers good results, unless you feel like your makeup routine is missing an under-eye brightener that specifically targets dark circles, you can probably pass on this.
