After announcing its remake of cult-classic The Crow back in 2008, Lionsgate has revealed a first look at the anticipated supernatural horror. With Bill Skarsgård and FKA twigs leading the cast, the film's first trailer hints at a dynamic remake of James O'Barr's 1989 comic book series, chock full of grit, gore and action.

Danny Huston, Isabella Wei, Laura Birn, Sami Bouajila and Jordan Bolger are also set to appear in the film, which is directed by Lionsgate's Rupert Sanders.

The film's official logline reads:

“Soulmates Eric Draven (Skarsgård) and Shelly Webster (FKA twigs) are brutally murdered when the demons of her dark past catch up with them. Given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself, Eric sets out to seek merciless revenge on their killers, traversing the worlds of the living and the dead to put the wrong things right.”

"What's the first thing you liked about me," Draven asks Webster, to which she replies, "I thought that you were quite brilliantly broken."

A few clips later, Draven asks Webster what the worst thing she's ever done was. She answers, "I saw things. I shouldn't have seen any of it."

An unknown voice explains, "When someone dies, a crow carries their soul to the land of the dead. But sometimes something so bad happens that the soul cannot rest. Until you put the wrong things right.”

O'Barr's comic catalyzed the initial The Crow film, which featured Bruce Lee's son Brandon Lee, who was shot by a prop gun on the set and died. The film rolled out three sequels released in 1996, 2000 and 2005.
